Epsilon Sigma Phi seeks to meet the future needs of its members and responds to those needs innovatively and resourcefully. Epsilon Sigma Phi is recognized as the Extension system provider and facilitator of professional development that focuses on the Extension organization and roles of the Extension professional. Epsilon Sigma Phi will provide national leadership in leadership development for Extension professional associations.
Alpha Pi ChapterEpsilon Sigma Phi (ESP), the National Honorary Extension Fraternity, chartered the Alpha Pi Chapter instituted at Auburn, Alabama on January 10, 1930. The Alpha Pi Chapter is the only ESP charter in the State of Alabama.
Every November and December, we invite you to come join us to be a part of a dynamic organization that helps develop and maintain leaders from all disciplines within the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and beyond.

Mission Statement Epsilon Sigma Phi is dedicated to fostering standards of excellence in the Extension System and developing the Extension profession and professional.
Core Values The National ESP Board identified the following four core priority values. • Professional Excellence • Leadership Development • Belief in the Extension System/Public Education • Serving People through Education
MembershipThere are the two classes of membership:
1) Active member. A professional (currently employed or retired) who has exhibited excellence in programming and leadership.

2) Life Member. A retiree from Cooperative Extension who has paid an amount equal to five times the national annual dues at the time of purchase or makes installment payments over a 2-year period.
Epsilon Sigma Phi values and seeks a diverse membership representing Alabama’s land grant institutions. The membership of Epsilon Sigma Phi shall consist of duly installed faculty and Administrative and Professional personnel who have done the following:
• Held full- or part-time Extension appointments• Successfully completed the required probationary
period per their respective appointment on June 1 of the previous year
• Displayed a cooperative and helpful attitude toward fellow Extension employees
• Demonstrated competency in assigned fields of responsibility
• Exhibited ability in educational techniques essential to the conduct of an effective Extension program
