Opción B: RetireView® Populated Models

Para elegir las opciones, ingrese a su cuenta en principal.com (en inglés).Allí también verá los modelos poblados de RetireView y las inversiones correspondientes.

RetireView es un servicio educativo sobre inversiones con 20 modelos diferentes que utilizan distintos niveles de riesgo y clases deactivos. Su empleador ingresa la información de las opciones de inversión del plan en los modelos, y sobre eso se le sugiere unaestructura de inversiones adaptada a su nivel de comodidad y en función del riesgo y los años que le falten para jubilarse. Sabemosque parece un poco complicado; déjenos explicarle.

RetireView tiene dos funciones que debe conocer para estar al tanto de su estrategia de inversión.

1. Ajuste automático por edad

Conforme se acerca a la jubilación, el modelo ajustará la estructura de inversiones automáticamente y, por lo general, setornará más conservadora para facilitar la recuperación de la inversión ante posibles pérdidas. Esta función es opcional.

2. Rebalanceo

Algunas opciones de inversión pueden tener mejor rendimiento a lo largo del tiempo y crecen más rápido que otras, resultandoasí en una estructura de inversiones distinta a la seleccionada inicialmente. El rebalanceo ayuda a mantener una estructurade inversiones similar a la seleccionada inicialmente. La opción automáticamente se revierte al rebalanceo trimestral. Lafrecuencia del rebalanceo es configurable para que sea anual o semestral ingresando a su cuenta en principal.com (en inglés)..RetireView® es un servicio online y usted puede elegir sus modelos poblados de RetireView® ingresando a su cuenta enprincipal.com (en inglés). Para ver que tan cómodo se siente con el riesgo, haga la Prueba de perfil de inversionista enprincipal.com/investorprofilequiz. Luego, con base en esos resultados, podrá elegir la distribución de su dinero según un modelode RetireView o elegir entre los otros 19 modelos de RetireView que se ajuste a su estilo.

Los modelos de tolerancia riesgo/edad son creados por Morningstar Investment Management LLC. Morningstar analiza las clases de activos yconstruye los rendimientos esperados a largo plazo, desviaciones estándar y coeficientes de correlación. Estos datos conforman las entradas parala optimización de la variación media, una técnica estadística. Debido a que el pronóstico es un paso crítico y fundamental en el proceso dedistribución de activos, Morningstar desarrolla pronósticos propios de mercado capital para cada clase de activos usando una combinación dedatos históricos, información del mercado actual y un análisis adicional. Cada pronóstico se convierte en una entrada en la creación del portafolio.

Es importante que conozcas las opciones que tienes para los ahorros que se encuentran en el plan de jubilación de tu empleador anterior. Si eres elegible para retirar tu dinero (esto se conoce como “distribución”), por lo general tienes cuatro opciones.

Cada opción tiene sus ventajas y desventajas. Debes considerar las diferencias entre las opciones de inversión, los cargos y gastos, las posibles consecuencias tributarias, los servicios y retiros sin penalizaciones.

Su derecho al beneficio por fallecimiento de su cónyugeprovisto por la ley federal no puede ser revocado a menosque usted esté de acuerdo. Si está de acuerdo, su cónyugepuede elegir que parte o todo el beneficio por fallecimientose le pague a otra persona. Cada persona que su cónyugeelige para recibir el beneficio por fallecimiento se llama"beneficiario". Cargos y Gastos+

This asset class is generally composed of short-term, fixed-income investment options that are largely liquid and are designed tonot lose much value. These investment options may include stable value, money market, short-term bond, and guaranteedinterest accounts. They are considered to be among the least risky forms of investment options. However, they typically have alower rate of return than equities or longer-term fixed income investment options over long periods of time. Depending on theobjectives of the investment options, they may experience price fluctuations and may lose value.

Investment Option Name: Fixed Income Guaranteed Option 10,15

Description: This group annuity contract provides an interest rate guaranteed for a set period of time by the Principal Life Insurance Company. It issupported by the multi-billion dollar general account of Principal Life, which invests in private market bonds, commercial mortgages andmortgage-backed securities. However, money you allocate to this investment does not entitle you to participate in the investment experience orperformance of the General Account. The rate credited to participant accounts is a composite weighted average of underlying guarantees provided inthe contract. Each underlying guarantee is in effect for its full maturity. The maturity of each guarantee varies from 2 to 10 years at the establishmentof the guarantee. Each guarantee matures at a different time. The term shown in the Term column represents the average maturity of the underlyingguarantees. The composite rate (crediting rate) is reset every 6 months based on the changing weighted average of the underlying guarantees andapplies prospectively (moving forward). The crediting rate is an effective annual rate and is displayed here as the rate guaranteed by Principal Life net ofthe Rate Level Service Fee. The crediting rate is subject to a minimum guaranteed rate that is determined through a formula determined according tostate insurance regulations which utilizes Treasury rates and is outlined in the group annuity contract. The minimum will range between 1% and 3%depending on prevailing market conditions. The contract provides for benefit payments at book value (i.e., no market value adjustments or surrendercharge adjustments) for withdrawals due to retirement, termination of employment, disability, loans, plan termination, or death, includingparticipant-directed transfers. If the retirement program provides you access to the Fixed Income Guaranteed Option and Competing Plan InvestmentOptions, participant transfers, either directly or indirectly, to Competing Plan Investment Options will generally be subject to an Equity Wash.
