FEBRUARY’S KP3 FOCUS: KINGDOMFor the month of February we are teaching elementary children about God’s Kingdom. The one big idea we want them to learn is: When I become who God wants me to be I will change the world. Week 1Big Idea: When I do the right things others may not like it.Scripture: Acts 25:7-8

Mom & Dad…Wow! What an important truth to learn at a young age. Doing the right thing doesn’t always make you popular, but it pleases God. Encourage your kids when they do the right things.

ELEMENTARY BAPTISM CLASSOur next baptism class for elementary aged children is scheduled for Saturday, February 13th at 3pm in Room 229. All children are required to attend a baptism class before they can be baptized. Forms are available at the check in desks upstairs or at the boat downstairs and must be turned in one week prior to attending the class. For more information please contact Kim Gore at:[email protected] or 813-626-0783, ext. 123.

Crossing Family,

This weekend we will be continuing our Song of Songs Marriage mini-series with a special message about conflict. Conflict in relationships is not a bad thing; in fact a relationship without conflict can be a disaster waiting to happen. The key to a healthy relationship is learning how to resolve conflict in a biblical and loving way. Hopefully our discussion today will not only help heal marriages, but also help rebuild relationships in all areas of your life.

Loving God & others, Greg & Tamara Dumas

1 Corinthians 7:10-17 (MSG): “Spiritually Single”; don’t divorce other than biblical grounds.

The Purpose of Marriage - In the strongest marriages, husband and wife share a deep sense of meaning. They don’t just get along – they support each other’s hopes and aspirations and build sense of purpose into their lives together. That’s what is meant by honoring and respecting one another.

LIFEGROUPSUse the following as a resource for your LifeGroup to go deeper with this week’s message. We hope this helps you as you “do life together”.

Special Note – this week’s notes are based on Pastor Greg’s 1st Wednesday Message

Opener: Have fun with this one – but not too much fun! When you have opportunity to hang with friends, what is the ideal setting/experience you prefer? Some examples include: game night, movies, quiet dinner with deep conversation, just chatting. What does it look like?

Digging Deeper:Perhaps your parents used to warn you, “Remember, God can see everything you do.” This very statement implied God’s continual Presence. Do you believe that? Is God truly always present? How does that make you feel? The answers may be quite varied.

Read aloud together Luke’s depiction of the story with the men on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24:13-35. What is the purpose of Jesus’ visit with these two men? Many people feel God is present in their lives all the time for the purpose of judging them for wrong actions or saving them in their time of need. Is that what this passage affirms? According to this passage – Jesus was present with them for neither of these reasons. He came to fellowship by the breaking of bread and to teach them the Scriptures. What kind of understanding does that bring to God’s Presence in your life?

Application:If you noticed in Luke 24:30 and 31, it was when Jesus broke the bread that the men recognized Jesus. As an act of remembering Jesus’ continual Presence as our teacher and friend, partake of Holy Communion together. If you are not sure how to accomplish this, LifeGroup Leaders can consult their LifeGroup Guides or contact their Community Leader. End in prayers of thanksgiving for the Lord’s Presence.
