Journal starting Jan 1 1907 has newspaper clippings in backas well as the newspaper obit for James H Homes who died in his 75th year being one of the last of JohnBrowns Kansas band of abolitionists. Journal dated 1908 has signature of ( J. H. Homes descendant of theabolistionist) . Wonderful reading in these important journals of James H Holmes. Several of the Journalshave small news clippings, calling cards, and also a Patriots's Bank State of War Certificate/coupon withadvertising on back of it. Many of the journals have small advertising clippings and correspondance for billsowed or paid etc. Most of the Diary/Journals also have calendars and other yearly info at the beginning. The detailin this engraving of the Marmozette monkeys along with a Bumble Bee on the pinapple is super! Measuresapprox 11 1/2" by 8 1/2".
