Grant funding was renewed for theTeacher in the Library for the 2015/16school year. Our sincerest thanks toEvergreen Park residents Kurt MJohnson and Dennis Smith, andArcher, Daniels, Midland Company’sADM Cares program, which invests incommunity initiatives that make apositive difference in the education ofchildren. Starting September 8,certified bilingual teacher Jose Rosaleswill provide free, drop-in homeworkhelp Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm, when school is in session.

After School Student BehaviorWe welcome all young people using the library for reading, studying, or other

activities associated with the library. However, all library users must respect the rights ofother patrons and library staff. Those who behave in ways that disturb or interfere withother patrons’ use of the library will be asked to leave the building and grounds for therest of the day. Continued disruption will result in longer exclusion. Food cannot bebrought into the library. Loitering on the front porch, entryway, or in front of thebuilding will not be permitted. Parents should note the library’s hours of operation. Thelibrary closes at 5:00 pm on Fridays.

Evergreen Park Library is a community resource for all to use to accomplish theireducational goals. Let’s work together to make a productive environment in which allmay succeed.

Ultimate Block Partya Success!

More than a hundred community members gathered on abeautiful summer evening to enjoy the music of EvergreenPark's own singer/songwriter Katie Quick at EP Library’sUltimate Block Party. The Evergreen Park Fire Departmentgrilled burgers and brats, Meijer, Reyes Holdings (KeithKobelt), and Brown-Foreman (John Bradley) donated coldbeverages, and everyone had a great time at our fundraiser.

Our deepest gratitude to Meijer, First National Bank ofEvergreen Park (who also sent volunteers), Marquette Bank,and Fifth Third Bank for sponsoring the event. The Village ofEvergreen Park allowed us to borrow their tent, and PublicWorks put it up and took it down. Thank you!

Fundraisers require many helping hands. Activity Room Complete!

Our Activity Room is a bright, multi-purpose space that will beused by teens after school and by others when teens are not in thebuilding. Thanks to a grant from CSX Beyond the Rails, we will beinstalling a 60 inch video screen and audiovisual capability to theroom soon.
