PRINCIPAL’S REPORT 2013- 2014

Blessed be the Lord Jesus, through His tender mercy, the school is going from strength to strength. Let

our work and endeavor be always acceptable in His sight.

For the wisdom granted, for the elation of learning and working in the School, for the help given in all

our perplexities and tasks achieved, we praise His holy name. We thank the Lord for guiding our feet

into the way of peace in the past ten months.

Chaplaincy

Thanks to the patronage of Bishop Andrew, Revd B. Ma, Revd K.S. Wong and Mr. R. Cheung, we have

learned to cherish the value of faith, hope and love. And we are led to the abundant life which Jesus

came to bring us all.

The senior and junior form Gospel Weeks were successfully held in October and March respectively.

“Home coming for Love” was the theme of the senior form religious week. The Bridge Music Ministry,

pop music evangelistic group was invited to conduct the sharing. The junior form religious week with the

theme “Prodigal son” came with a string of activities too. A movie show, “Enduring Love” and lunch time

band show were arranged. Sharing included Mr. M.C. Fong from Soaring Dreams, and students of

Christian Zheng Sheng College. We also had a friendly basketball game with the representatives from

Zheng Sheng.

In the first term, our students were amazed and impressed by the Diocese of West Kowloon evangelical

youth programme, “To meet with Eternity”, the Messiah Thanksgiving Evening to celebrate the 15th

anniversary of the inauguration of the Province and the Watoto Children Choir Concert.

The school religious decoration project 2012-14 was a collaboration project with the Visual Arts

department. Our young artists produced very attractive work and their crosses bedecked and beautified

our classrooms. Thanks go to Ms. M.F. Lee, Ms. Y.S. Lam and all our F.5 art students.

The liturgical life of the school includes the celebration of Christian festivals. The Revd K.S. Wong, our

school chaplain preached at our annual Christmas worship and the Revd K.P. Wong of St. Thomas

Church at Easter.

Activities this year were run according to the theme “Engage in the Bible and love our Lord”, short talks

made at the Morning Prayer sessions were based on the Anglican values. By grace, the mission work of

our school expanded gradually, this included regular fellowship gatherings, bible classes, morning

devotion and assemblies. The Easter camp was held at PLK Pak Tam Chung Campsite. Thanks to our

school chaplain Revd Wong, our monthly service was held every first Monday of the month, it followed

the traditional format of hymns, a time of prayer, Bible reading, short sermon and concluded with the

Grace.

Thanks go to the leaders of the School Fellowship, Ms. Leung I Yan 5E and Mr. Hon Yiu Chu 5C for

their devotion and commitment.

Student Admission & District Education Officer

The academic year of 2013 - 2014 began in September 2013 with 26 classes in operation i.e. 4 classes

of F.1 - F.4 and 5 classes of F.5 - 6. With additional resources provided by the Bureau, 30 classes were

operated.

159 students participated in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education in March 2014.

Thanks must go to our Chief School Development Officer, Mrs. M.F. Tsang and her team at Tsuen Wan

office for their advice and support during the year.

Key Concerns

This was the second year of our three-year plan. We committed to achieve two schemes, to raise the

learning interest of our students and to enhance their sense of belonging to the School.

Curriculum & Academic Activities

Learning and Teaching

The Academic Committee determined, organised and implemented the curriculum and its assessment.

The Committee monitored and evaluated teaching and learning in order to identify and act on areas for

improvement. According to the key concerns it aimed to strengthen the learning motivation of our

students and help them to be active learners. To improve the critical, analytical and integrated

reasoning skills of our students had also been one of our targets.

Power Lessons

E-learning is one of the efforts of the Academic Committee. Smart boards were installed in all

classrooms in the second term and learning with i-pads introduced in the classes. Power lesson training

sessions were conducted for teachers.

Flipped Classroom

Following the first trial of the Form I English phonics lessons, other KLAs joined in. Lesson clips and

power points were uploaded to the school website and students were able to do their revision

independently after school.

After School Lessons

The Committee planned to secure success for all. Therefore, on top of remedial classes run for our less

ready students, after school and Saturday languages and Mathematics classes were arranged to

challenge our more able and talented students, ensuring they worked to the best of their abilities.

Homework

Homework plays a significant role in encouraging pupils to become independent lifelong learners. It

aims to enrich their learning, to reinforce classwork and extend their knowledge and understanding.

Homework is set regularly, and pupils must record the instructions in their homework diaries. It is also

part of the on-going assessment and the e-Homework record has been devised to ensure that parents

understand what their children have learned in their classes.

Language-rich environment & Reading

The effort of our Putonghua and English ambassadors was highly appreciated. Students found the

performances of their peers in both the Chinese and English subject assemblies highly entertaining.

Our junior form students have been active participants of the Summerbridge Programme for the past

twenty-two years. This four-week summer English enhancement course has benefited many students.

Most of our participants subsequently achieved good public examination results.

The school library has been one of the most visited venues on the premises; book fairs were organized

twice a year. Reading during holiday periods was promoted. These planned, multilingual events

generally based on a pithy caption such as “Enjoy the feast, relax and read”, “Christmas greetings,

enjoy reading” revolved around dialogue between the school librarian Ms. S.M. Li and our NET, Mr. E.

Thomas. Our student librarians have set a good example for their peers and their hard work has paid

off.

Catering for Learning Diversity Needs

The one week lunch time intensive phonics course was made compulsory for our Form I students.

Thanks go to Ms. L.H. Wai and Ms. C. Chow.

The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a continuing effort of the English Department; we now have classes

in both Form 1 and 2. Our English teachers are supported by intensive training and frequent updates

from the OG Centre.

The “Read and Write” programme has become an integral part of the junior form Chinese syllabus.

Reading fluency classes were conducted as usual. The contribution made by all peer tutors was

gratefully recognised.

Outreach Programme and OLE

To help our students enjoy learning at school, cross curricular and creative approaches were in place

together with textbook based teaching.

In order to enhance self-discipline and perseverance for our Form 1 new comers, they experienced a

six-Saturday morning military training in September and October. The passing–out ceremony was held

at the Stake-holders evening. Most parents agreed the training profited their children.

A sea expedition and land adventure were run as in years past. As strong team work and courage were

required to cope with the series of physical and mental challenges, the training on the Adventure Ship

gave our second formers a worthy experience to build up their adversity resilience. This year, the

Tourism and Hospitality Studies Department joined the Biology and the Geography Departments in the

collaborative events of the Mei Po, Hoi Ha and the East Ping Chau trips. Other local outside classroom

studies included visits made to St. Mary’s Church, Fong Yung Study Hall of Ma Wan and Royal

Manchurian Costume Exhibits of the History Museum. Thirty-nine Form 2 and 3 students went to Hoi

Ping for heritage and national education studies in November. In March, forty of our fifth formers spent

four days in Shan Zi focusing on studies of heritage, environment, industries and national enterprises.

With the support of the Chung’s Award, 6 students will attend an English Immersion Programme in the

United Kingdom in July. All these journeys and visits were found beneficial. Thanks go to all teachers

involved.

Young Enterprise

Cross-subject activity of the Technology and PSHE KLA launched its sale of the year in April. Thanks go

to Ms. Y.N. Tsang, Ms. B.Y. Tsoi and Ms. C.Y. Tam.

Inspections

In the second week of December we had three inspections. A team from ESR came for the focus

inspection for the Mathematics Department. Subject inspectors of the CDI paid a visit to the Liberal

Studies Department. As the six-year English Enhancement Scheme is approaching its completion in

August 2014, an inspector from the Scheme came for a final check. Lesson observations were made,

student assignments and examination papers were inspected. On top of helpful discussions and advice,

positive comments and encouragement were given. The departments were complimented for their

ability to cater for individual differences with adaptive curriculum and instruction. It is indeed quite

encouraging to know that the inspectors found our school-based materials help students learn in a

better and more effective way. They also appreciated the different parts we play in the panel to

facilitate teaching and learning. All our hard work paid off and great appreciation is due to all teachers.

Careers

Working side-by-side with their pedagogic partners, the Careers Guidance team has been a busy and

productive group. Careers awareness support provided to our students starts in the junior forms. The

Student Learning Portfolio, which begins in Form I, helped our students to identify their strengths,

aptitudes and abilities at an early stage. “I’ve my Choice,” the Careers Programme for the third

formers, has always been well-received.

In addition to various after-school seminars and interview workshops put together round the year, the

Careers studies has been a core Form 4 and 5 OLE curriculum. The Careers corner has provided easy

access to information of selection criteria and university requirements to our senior formers. Personal

advice of JUPAS choices was also given to all graduating students and counseling sessions have been

provided to our past students too. Students have been exposed to a wide range of post-secondary

career choices in diverse tertiary institutions. In April, a Taiwan Career Trip was arranged for thirty

Form 4 and 5 students.

Success

Lipians embrace excellence in different aspects of performance. Competitions have furnished our

students’ myriad opportunities to showcase and be recognized for their many talents. As in previous

years, we have witnessed continued success of our students in the past ten months. We are proud of

their all-round capabilities and thankful for each contribution made by our students and teachers.

Academic

Our senior form students performed well at the Australian National Chemistry Quiz organized by the

Royal Australian Chemical Institute and acquired 8 awards, including credits and distinctions. High

distinction was awarded to Huang Guohua 5A and distinctions to Ko Wing Ho 6A, Ng Shu San 6A and

Chow Kam Man 5A.

Li Ka Yan 4A was Champion at the Hong Kong Young Historians Leadership Development Institute

Impromptu Speech on Appraisal of Historical Figure Competition organized by the History Alumni

Association of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Old girl Lam Lai Yin 2012 is on the Dean’s List of the Hong Kong Baptist University, College of

International Education Associate Degree Programme.

Inventions & Science

Despite the tremendous demands on their time and effort, our young scientists represented the School

with distinction. In the summer of 2013, Ng Shu San 6A returned from the China Adolescent Science

and Technology Innovation Contest held at Nanjing with a second prize and Kwok Ming Chun 6A got a

first prize from the Second China and International Students Innovative Information Technology

Competition held at Chang Sha. Congratulations go to Tam Lok Yi 6A, Chen Longfeng 5A, Chong Yuk

Lan 5A and Huang Guohua 5A. They brought back the overall champion award from the Joint School

Science Exhibition, the jewel in the crown of local science competition held in August 2013. Our first

attempt at the Macau Innovation Competition is encouraging, Feng Qiuyi 6A, Wong Chiu Fai 6A and

Kwong Kin Chun 5A returned with a silver.

On top of producing exemplary results, our young scientists have expanded their learning experience,

both local and global, through their participation in these contests. Thanks must go to Mr. K.Y. Ho, Mr.

W.C. Lo, Mr. T.H. Ng and the Mathematics and Science KLAs.

Leadership

Weng Yusi 5A is one of the winners of the Outstanding Student of the Year in the Tsuen Kwai Tsing

Secondary School area for 2013 - 2014. Wong Kam Ying 5A was appointed the best student leader at

the High School Science Camp 2013 – Outstanding High School Student Award Scheme held at

Nanjing.

Ng Shu San 6A and Chen Longfeng 5A obtained the Bronze Standard of the Hong Kong Award for

Young People.

Speech & Music

Competitions in speech and music are being promoted. Many of our students participated in this year’s

Festival and they achieved very commendable results. Our students returned with 21 merits in the

Chinese solo and two 4B girls, Hui Kwan Lam and Leung Wing Sze were awarded a third in their duet.

There were a total of 31 merits in English, the solo of Ng Mei Ho Kay 3A came third.

Sports

Hardship and effort put in by our young athletes paid off. Our students have achieved significant

success over the past 10 months. At the Hong Kong School Competitions (Tsuen Wan and Islands),

Wong Si Hing 4C gained a gold in the Grade A Boys shot put and a bronze in discus. Chow Chun Tung

2D was the champion in the 100M and he also came third in the 200M. We got two bronzes in the shot

put, winners were Yu Ka Yee 1C at the Grade C Girls and Ogbeide Desmond Chukwuemeka 3C at the

Grade B Boys. Our girls’ handball team did well his year, the Grade A team was the championship and

the Grade C first runner-up. Our table-tennis team finished fourth in Grade A Boys.

Chiu Siu Wai 6B was a member of the Hong Kong team at 2013-14 Hong Kong, Guangdong, Macau

and Fujin Schools Interport Football Competition, his ream returned as champions. He also represented

Hong Kong at the 41st Asian High School U18 Football Tournament held in Thailand and the 42nd Asian

High School U18 Football Tournament held at Solo, Indonesia. Congratulations to Chui on his receiving

the A.S. Watson Group Hong Kong Student Sports Award 2013-2014.

Community Youth Club

Our team returned from the Tsuen Wan CYC and Amazing Teens 2014 competition with five awards

including the Best Prize in Criticism (Secondary School), the Best Professional Report and the Best

Display board (Content). The thematic reports of Li Mei Yan 4A and Zhu Wenjin 3A were awarded best

prize and merit respectively. Thanks go to Ms. P.Y. Law and Ms. T.W. Yeung.

Performance Art

At the Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2013-14, Yip Hiu Lam 5B returned with the Award for

Outstanding Performer and our school received the Award for Outstanding Cooperation.

Others

Our team with Leung Kei Yan 3A, Wong Hei Naam 3B and Ho Ka Wai 3C was awarded first runner up

at the Nature in Touch, Country Parks Reporters 2013 Inter-school Competition run by the Agriculture,

Fisheries and Conservation Department.

Charities and Serving the Community

Support was given to several flag selling and charity events, including Michealmas fair of St. John’s

Cathedral, the 40th Anniversary Fair and elderly academy of SKH Lady MacLehose Center, and Act of

Love Lenten Campaign of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council. 88 teachers and senior

form students donated blood. Money was collected to help the Philippians.

Our Careers Team offered two mock interview workshops to local primary five and six students. Both

parents and participants were pleased with the talks and interviews, some participants came twice.

Student Association

Election took place on 10th October, Mr. Cheung Ka Hing 5A and his team ‘The One’ won the election.

Under his leadership, the operation of the Association was well-managed and they endeavored to help

their schoolmates enjoy school life. The highlight of the year was the Christmas party which attracted

over 110 participants. The “Secret Chamber Quiz” and the Valentine’s Day chocolate sale were gladly

received. In the second term, a teacher-student debate tournament was arranged and souvenirs were

prepared and presented to all our school leavers at the Form 6 last day service. The Student

Association also strived for the welfare of our students, the service and sales provided at the SA shop

were much appreciated.

Home School Liaison

The Annual General Meeting was held on 4th October. As there were only 6 parents contesting for posts

in the Executive Committee, no election was held. Members and their families came to the gathering

and dinner. Old friends and contemporaries quickly found one another and it was a happy event that

everyone enjoyed. Our students’ performances were the highlights of the evening. These included

break dance, a magic show and aerobatic.

At the first Executive Committee Meeting held one week after the AGM, Ms. Fiona Tang was elected

chairperson. All parent committee members came for the prize giving ceremony of the Annual Sports

Day, their presence was a great encouragement to all our staff.

Pre-Chinese New Year narcissus classes run by the Science Department were well-received. Family

outings this year included Science Park and Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve in November and Nam San

Wai in March. All our participants were delighted by the breath-taking landscapes of the local

countryside. To keep our parents informed of the events of the PTA, the PTA Newsletter was published

and distributed in July.

We are grateful to the Chairman, the Vice Chairman and all our committee members for their support

given to the school.

The Thirtieth Anniversary

Celebration is in the air for the 30th anniversary which will soon be upon us. In December the school

was graced by the visit of a distinguished guest, the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of

Hong Kong, Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui. Friends from primary and secondary schools in the neighbourhood

were invited. The talk given on genes was inspiring. After his address, the Professor toured round the

School and chatted with our young scientists and school reporters. His sharing on learning and attitude

towards life were impressive and encouraging.

We had our highly anticipated and hugely exciting event on the weekend before Easter. Many guests

visited our Science Expo held at Discovery Park. The Expo enabled us to share the fruits of our hard

work with our visitors. It showcased designs, inventions and science projects of our students and

competition products from local primary and secondary schools. The venue was crowded with visitors

all day long, there were long queues at our game stalls and the exhibit displays. Guests found our

workshops brainstorming, magic show and drama entertaining. We were honoured to have Prof.

Roland T. Chin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University of Hong Kong to be our chief

advisor and other scholars included Prof. Liu Enshan of the Beijing Normal University, Prof. Alan K.T.

Lau of the Polytechnic University, Prof. Stanley C.K. Lau of the Hong Kong University of Science and

Technology, Dr. Y.S. Cheung and Dr. C.K. Cheung of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Irene

N.Y. Cheng of Hong Kong Institute of Education, Dr. Jimmy K.Y. Wong of the Hong Kong New

Athletics Meeting

The 2013 Sports Day held on 27th and 28th November was eventful. Our athletes were enthusiastic in

both the field events and in the races. For the past 29 years, this delightful annual event has been the

highlight of the school year. The contribution of the student helpers and cheer teams and the support of

our PTA were much appreciated. Thanks go to the Physical Education Department.

Staff Development Programme

Our teachers visited Fanling Kau Yan College in October, Mr. Chan Kin Hung founding principal of

Baptist Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and Tin Ka Ping Secondary School was invited to address us

in December. Apart from the school-based programme arranged, teachers were also encouraged to

attend training courses and seminars organized by the Education Bureau and other institutes.

In the second term, we had a number of guests. On top of experiences sharing, possibilities of

cooperation were discussed.

From the EDB, we had Mrs. M.F. Tsang, Chief School Development Officer of Tsuen Wan and Ms. Edith

Y.C. Tse of Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Science) and Mr. Issac T.T. Tsang of Curriculum

Development Officer (Gifted Education).

Visitors from mainland included academics of Sun Yat-Sen University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics

and Astronautics and Nanjing University of Science and Technology.

Before term ended, Prof. Kim Yong Pyo, head of International Relations & Education Faculty of Hansin

University and his colleagues came.

Open Day

The Achievement Sharing cum Form 1 Info Day held in December was again a successful event. There

were over 250 visitors. Parents showed great interest in the Li Ping Flipped Classrooms and the mock

interview workshops offered. Our visitors gave us positive comments. Thanks must go to Ms. F. Yau

and the Careers team as well as to all who worked so hard to make the day a success.

Environmental Protection

The second stage greening project of our entrance and the car park was completed. The new plants

made the school look more pleasant. To sustain the greening concept of our students, organic farming

classes were run at regular intervals.

Singing Contest

Undoubtedly, music has been one of the popular extra-curricular activities in our School. Teachers and

students showed great enthusiasm and tremendous support for the annual singing contest. The annual

fixture was held after the Christmas Service, our old boys, now local professional pop musicians, Mr.

Lau Wai Wong (96) and Mr. Hui Kwok Wai (97) were adjudicators this year. After the shortlist from the

heats, four duets, five solos and four choruses were on stage at the final. All performances were

beautifully presented and the most impressive delivery was made by Cheung Ka Hing 5A and Weng

Yusi 5A. The contest was a great success, and the atmosphere was pushed to the climax when our two

old boys performed on the stage.

As a hub of all events held round the year, the school hall has been overseen by our stage management

team, we are grateful for the dedication of the managers Hung Wai Man 6A, Kwok Ming Chun 6A and

their team.

In the past twenty-nine years, we have been forward-looking, yet we enjoy a proud history and retain

traditional values and a Christian ethos. Our priority is to offer our current body of pupils the best possible

educational experience, while investing in a strategic vision to ensure the long term sustainability of

all this wonderful School has to offer future generations of Lipians. Our teachers do not simply invest our

students with information, but teach them how to think and develop talent. We are professionals in

recognizing the quality of students and understanding what makes them spread their wings. Li Ping has

been a vibrant, dynamic and welcoming community, and will continue to be in the years to come.

Having served the School for 23 years, I’m due to retire this September and hand over the reins to the

new principal. It has been a privilege to work with such a committed team and I would like to thank

everyone in the school, the Council, the staff, parents and students, who have made my years in the

school so enjoyable.

高年級福音周於十月進行，主題為「愛回家」，由福音樂隊「TBM音樂事」到校表演並作見證分享；低年

級福音周於三月進行，主題為「浪子回頭」，活動包括福音電影「毒海遇上愛」及午間福音樂隊表演等，

並由「夢想飛」佈道團方文聰先生及正生書院學生到校作見證分享，本校學生更有機會與正生書院代表

進行籃球友誼賽。

上學期初，本校學生參與西九龍教區中學聯校佈道會「相約在永恆」、香港聖公會教省成立十五周年「彌

賽亞神曲感恩晚會」，以及WATOTO兒童合唱團音樂會。

宗教組聯同美術科合辦宗教藝術佈置計劃 2012-2014，學生積極參與計劃內各項藝術活動，並於課室展

示由學生親自製作的十字架。在此感謝李美鳳老師、林燕湘老師及中五級美術科同學的付出和努力。

學生可透過參與基督教節日的慶祝活動，認識聖公宗的傳統禮儀。聖誕崇拜由聖公會主愛堂黃健新校牧

為學生講道，復活節崇拜則由聖多馬堂黃家博牧師證道。

本年活動以「親聖經，愛上帝」為主題，老師於周會中分享宗教價值觀。蒙主的帶領，本校在各方面的

福音事工得以穩步發展，包括團契聚會、聖經研習班和早禱等。復活節期間，本校更於保良局北潭涌渡

假營舉行生命成長營。在此，多謝黃健新校牧的協助，讓早禱崇拜定期於每月第一個星期一進行，崇拜

按聖公宗傳統進行，包括有唱詩、祈禱、讀經、講道及祝福的禮儀。

在此，感謝兩位學生團契領袖 5E梁苡恩同學及 5C 韓耀主同學的承擔和帶領，讓學生團契各項事工得以

圖書館經常舉辦各類型的活動，每年更舉辦兩次書展，同學十分踴躍支持。此外，圖書館亦大力推動假

期閱讀計劃，圖書館主任及外籍英語老師更精心設計不同的活動主題，包括「同歡賀聖誕，借書你抵讚」

及「中秋團圓，與書結緣」等。圖書館助理員在推動閱讀方面亦不遺餘力，為同學樹立良好榜樣，值得

予以表揚。

英文科老師特別為中一級學生舉辦一星期午間拼音課；在此，感謝衞樂衡老師及周嘉莉老師所付出的努

本校英文科老師接受奧頓吉林翰拼音法的專業培訓，並應用於中一及中二級學生。

「喜閱寫意課程」已融入低年級中文科課程，「閱讀流暢度課程」繼續為中文讀寫困難的同學提供適切的

支援。在此，感謝所有導師的協助，讓課堂得以順利進行。

會舉行，當晚出席家長均認同訓練活動對學生有莫大的裨益。

本校積極推行各項課外學習活動，以豐富學生不同的學習經歷。中二級同學參與「乘風航海上教室」活

動，讓學生在逆境中體驗團隊合作精神。此外，本校旅遊與款待科更與生物科及地理科合作，帶領學生

到米埔、海下灣及東坪洲進行考察活動。本校還安排其他本地參觀活動，包括聖馬利亞堂、馬灣芳園書

室、香港歷史博物館等。十一月，39位中二及中三級學生前往開平參加國民教育考察。三月，40位中五

級同學到山西進行為期四天的通識考察活動，到當地遺址及國營機構等進行實地考察，了解當地的文化、

環境及工業發展。還有，在鍾氏基金支持下，本校有 6 位同學於七月份到英國遊學。在此，向所有參與

及籌備的同工致謝。

本校科技教育及人文科組舉辦跨學科活動，並於四月舉行銷售活動。感謝曾艷藝老師、蔡碧茵老師及譚

十二月，校外評核組到校為數學科進行重點視學，另外，課程發展處視學組為通識科進行視學。本校為

期六年之「提升學與教效能的提升英語水平計劃」將於 2014年八月完結，負責計劃的視學人員亦到校進

行最後檢視，包括觀課、審閱學生課業和試卷等。於視學過程中，視學人員給予本校不少寶貴建議和正

面的評價，並讚揚各科組能制定適切的課程，以照顧學生的學習差異；還有，視學人員表示本校的校本

課程能有效促進學生學習，以及對於本校學與教方面的努力予以肯定。在此，特別感謝各位老師的努加

和付出。

升學及就業輔導組與各科組緊密合作，安排學生由中一級開始準備個人學習檔案，協助他們由初中開始

本校定期為學生舉辦就業講座及面試工作坊，並已把生涯規劃課編入中四及中五其他學習經歷課程，還

有為高年級學生設立升學及就業資源閣，讓他們掌握更多升學及就業資訊。升學及就業輔導組不僅為中

六同學在大學聯招選科中給予建議，更為已離校的畢業生提供升學輔導服務。此外，30 名中四及中五級

學生於四月到台灣進行升學考察交流活動。

行善運動等。本校共 88名師生參與捐血活動；另外，本校亦為菲律賓風災籌款。

本校為本區小五及小六學生舉辦了兩次升中面試工作坊，獲不少家長及學生支持。透過升中講座及面試，

讓他們掌握更多升中資訊及面試技巧。

5A 張家鑫同學及其內閣「the One」於十月十日的學生會選舉中勝出，張同學正式成為新一屆學生會主

席，在張同學和各內閣成員的努力下，學生會積極為學生服務和舉辦各項活動。聖誕節聯歡會為本年重

點活動之一，超過 110名學生參加，「密室逃脫」活動及情人節朱古力售賣活動亦大受歡迎。下學期舉辦

了一場師生辯論賽，學生會更為中六全級同學預備紀念品，並於歡送日中送贈；同時學生會亦致力為同

學爭取福利，學生會提供的服務及銷售項目，同學均表示欣賞。

一年一度的家教會會員大會於十月四日舉行，6位家長委員自動當選。家長會員及其家庭成員於會後參加

周年聚餐，並欣賞學生精彩的表演，包括霹靂舞、魔術及雜耍。

鄧燕君女士於家教會投票選舉中，獲選為家教會主席。家教會全體家長委員更撥冗出席本年度陸運會頒

獎禮。

十二月，科學組為家長開辦「水仙頭浸割班」，活動獲家長踴躍支持；十一月，家教會舉辦「大埔滘自然

生態護理區(紅路林徑)及科學園秋日大自然親子體驗樂悠遊」活動；三月，亦舉辦了「南生圍生態導賞及

有機農莊一日遊」活動。此外，為使家長能進一步了解家教會及最新資訊，家教會於七月出版會訊。

在此，特別感謝家教會主席、副主席及各委員全力支持本校各項活動。

本校將踏入三十周年，校慶活動亦早已開始籌備及展開。十二月，香港大學校長徐立之教授應邀蒞臨本

校演講，主題為「與學生對談基因研究」，除本校學生外，亦邀請鄰近中小學的學生參與其中。徐教授於

活動後更參觀本校校園，以及與本校在科學比賽中獲獎的學生及校園小記者分享學習心得及人生道理。

本校於四月假荃灣愉景新城舉辦「荃、葵、青創新科技教育展暨創新科技發明比賽」，我們十分榮幸邀請

到香港大學首席副校長錢大康教授為是次活動首席顧問，其他顧問包括：北京師範大學生命科學學院劉

恩山教授、香港理工大學工程學院副院長劉建德教授、香港科技大學生命科學部劉振鈞教授、香港中文

大學化學系張羽伸博士、香港中文大學農業生物技術國家重點實驗室張振佳博士、香港教育學院科學及

音樂比賽是學校每年一度的盛事，老師和同學都付出很大的努力和支持。音樂比賽於聖誕崇拜後舉行，

我們邀請到著名音樂人，同時亦為本校舊生劉威煌先生(1996)及許國威先生(1997)擔任評判及表演嘉賓，

各參賽者在台上盡展音樂才華。本年度各項比賽的競爭非常激烈，總決賽項目包括 4組合唱、5位獨唱及

四社大合唱，當中 5A張家鑫同學及 5A翁雨絲同學小組合唱的表現最為出色，讓觀眾留下深刻印象。兩

位舊生的表演令音樂比賽氣氛推至高峰，同學反應非常熱烈。

在此，感謝我們的舞台總監 6A洪緯民同學、6A郭明俊同學及其他成員的努力，使本學年各項演出能順

利進行。

過去廿九年來，李炳中學一直秉承著聖公宗的傳統和持守基督教的價值觀，不斷向前邁進，並且成為一

所榮神益人的學校。對於本校的發展和成就，我們深感驕傲。我們的首要目標是為學生提供多元學習經

驗，並以前瞻性的策略制定長遠的發展計劃。本校老師不僅教授學生知識，更因應學生的個人特質和才

能，引導他們發掘自己的長處並加以發展，讓他們如鷹展翅高飛。我們會繼續努力，追求卓越。

本人在李炳中學服務廿三年，將於九月退休，李炳中學將由新一任校長繼續領導發展。本人十分榮幸能

與學校每一位同工共事，在此，衷心感謝全體教職員所付出的努力，亦十分感謝校董會多年來的帶領及

支持，以及家長和學生對學校的愛戴。

以利沙說：「願感動你的靈加倍感動我。」願聖靈在往後的日子加倍保守李炳中學。
