"We recognise the need for us all to contribute to the sustainability of the planet’s natural resources. We face times of unprecedented pressure on the planet’s ecosystems and people. We believe sustainable development means adopting business strategies, activities and processes that meet the needs of the company and its stakeholders today while protecting, sustaining and enhancing the human and natural resources that will be needed in the future.”

Chris Currie – ITL CEO

Population growth, a thirst for fossil fuels, consumerism and the impacts from climate change have presented the world with environmental risks and opportunities. We intend to effectively manage the risks posed to the business while also harnessing the relevant opportunities.

ITL is committed to building high quality relationships with both customers and suppliers to reduce environmental impacts throughout our products and supply chain.

Our Environmental Policy forms an important part of our journey towards sustainable development. Our objectives focus on materials, water, greenhouse gas emissions & energy, waste and air pollution.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015. They are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The 17 SDGs define global sustainable development priorities and aspirations for 2030 and seek to mobilize global efforts around a common set of goals and targets.

Our Environmental Policy has direct links to the SDGs. As a result, we have identified which SDGs are furthered by the goals and objectives laid out in our Environmental Policy.

Our specific commitments to the SDGs can be found in our official ITL SDG Position Statement Document

In recent years, governments around the world have taken unprecedented action to reduce their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions through National Policy and multilateral agreements like the Paris Accords. We believe that businesses must play their part and look to reduce their GHG emissions. We pledge to:• Conduct an annual company-wide carbon footprint; reduce

GHG emissions annually• Decrease the amount of energy used across all operations• Where energy use is still necessary, use renewable sources

that have a lower carbon footprint• Analyse our Scope 3 emissions and compile a

comprehensive Scope 3 inventory• Increase awareness and training on climate change

mitigation

prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse• Increase use of post-consumer recycled materials in

order to decrease the amount of virgin materials produced and aid in diverting waste from landfill sites

Due to the nature of the textile industry, certainprocesses emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), NOx and SOx into the atmosphere. These can cause local air pollution problems and have a negative effect on human health.

We pledge to increase local air quality at all operations by reducing the amount of VOCs, NOx and SOx generated
