• Joint Defra, Environment Agency, WAG programme
• First phase (EPP1) streamlined and simplified PPC and WML into one single environmental permitting system
• Second phase (EPP2) will extend single system and potentially include regulations for water regimes, Radioactive Substances and some waste carriers and brokers
• It could provide means of delivering the permitting and compliance requirements of EU directives e.g. Mining Waste and Batteries

• Cutting unnecessary red tape • Continuing to protect the environment and human health
• Giving clarity and certainty on how the regulations protect the environment
