SURVEY ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

INTRODUCTION

We all know that pollution is a big problem in today’s world. The whole world is suffering from these circumstances of pollution which is affecting our society one way or the other. The cause of this pollution is mainly the excessive use of resources by man. Most of the educated class know its consequences but do not think about it seriously whereas, uneducated people do not know about pollution entirely. Therefore, in this regard we conducted a survey in University of Karachi. The students were given a questionnaire to fill, in order to know their views about environmental pollution. The result which we get is quite similar to our expectation that people know about pollution and its affects but don’t want to do anything about the environment to save it. Through this survey we also get to know that pollution is not a big issue but the population is the main issue which is using the resources and causing pollution in environment.

ANALYSIS

Interpretation:

According to the survey the most affected natural resource is the air. On second position is water and on third rank is land.

Interpretation:

From the above graph it is observed that according to females the major cause is lack of execution of laws and rules in the society whereas males marked lack of awareness about pollution as the major cause.

Interpretation:

From the above graph it is observed that both the students of arts and science faculty suggest that by developing good habits and spreading awareness in peers is the way by which students can contribute. While some says that there is no need of students to contribute in saving the environment.

The above graph shows that all the given options affect our society.

CONCLUSION

Hence, it is concluded that pollution is a threat to our environment. The people are aware of this issue but are not willing to do anything on their part which can actually keep our environment healthy and worth living.
