Equality and Diversity at Work L2

Our Equality and Diversity at Work course, often referred to as ‘EOD’ is a short course designed to give learners an introduction to EOD at work and how it affects the workplace. The 2 hour course covers the following principles: • Overall introduction to Equal Opportunities & Diversity • Define and compare preconceptions, labelling and stereotyping • Understand diversity and identify and discuss the importance of diversity • Recognise the Quality Act 2010 and all its relevant legislation • Definition of Protected Characteristics • Identification and discussion of useful equality definitions • Presenting and understanding both company and individual responsibilities regarding

equality and diversity • Identifying core values and promoting equality in the workplace. Upon completion every learner will receive a certificate of attendance awarded for CPD.

Bespoke Customer Service L2

The bespoke customer service course is designed to equip employees with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively deal with customers while at work. The course last 7 hours and is delivered in 1 day. During the course you will cover the following topics and principles:

• Know your customers • Compare customer satisfaction and loyalty • Identify your service offer • Create a customer service charter • Dealing with difficult situations • Effective verbal communication • Effective written communication.

Bespoke Team Leading L2

The Level 2 Team Leading course is delivered over 1 day and lasts 7 hours. The course is appropriate for anyone working in a supervisory or team leader position or those who are new to a management position. This is a good basic introduction to leadership and is a reflective course which will enable attendees to consider what they do already and how they might want to develop their leadership skills and style. The course covers the following aspects of team leading:

• Understanding management and leadership • Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway (confidence building) • Practical application • Effective communication

Bespoke Management L3

The bespoke management course is a Level 3, 1 day course for managers or aspiring managers to learn basic principles of management. This course is appropriate for anyone working in a management position, particularly those who have not had any formal training around management theories. The course is theory based and helps attendees understand why people behave the way they do and gives some strategies and models to work with to develop own skills. This course covers the following aspects of management and leadership:

• Overview of leadership and knowing your style • Key theories of leadership and management • Principles of motivation for self and team • Handling conflict within the workplace

Directions for Success L1 & L2

Directions for success Level 1 and 2 are 3 day (21 hours) career development workshops designed to enable people to learn the skills needed to manage their own career path. It is pitched at anyone who is looking at changing careers, managing their career development or returning to work after a period out of the labour market.

Confidence Building L1 & L2

Our confidence building course is perfect for people who are both employed and unemployed but might be lacking confidence or self-esteem in certain areas. This short course lasts 2.5 hours and aims to start building a toolbox of techniques to help improve confidence and self-esteem.

The course is designed to help people define what confidence and self-esteem means to the individual and then, working in a safe environment, identify causes of their low confidence and low self-esteem. Once this has been established using a technique called the ‘Wheel of Life’, learners are supported when creating objectives to help improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Get Back to Work! Handling Redundancy and Becoming Self Employed L1

This course is designed for people who are long term unemployed (through redundancy) and have barriers to accessing employment. The course lasts 12 hours (over 2 days) and the course features: • Identifying and learning how to overcome barriers to finding employment. • Effective job searching skills and demonstrate understanding of hidden job market • Developing how to present an effective CV and market skills in an interview situation • Learning effective presentation skills.

Goal Setting and Action Planning L1 & L2

Goal setting and action planning designed to support people both employed or unemployed when setting goals and action planning in their personal life and at work. It lasts 4 hours and aims to enhance learner’s understanding of setting goals and its importance in personal and organisational development. This course covers the following topics: • The importance of setting goals (objectives, Key Performance or Success Indicators) • The need for professional development • Identifying possible obstacles and challenges to goal setting • SMART goal skills • How to create an action plan • How to review action plans.

Managing Work and Family Effectively (aimed at parents)

This course is designed for parents in Gloucester who may be unemployed through redundancy, employed or self-employed. Its primary aim is to support parents juggling work and family life. The course is delivered locally in Gloucester and takes 14 hours (over 2 / 3 days) to complete. During the course you will cover the following topics and principles: • Overcoming barriers workshop • CV writing workshop • Letter writing and application forms • Interview techniques • Supported job search.
