PREFLIGHT PROCESS: ORBIT UAV MAPPING PLANNER The UAV Mapping Planner extension to Orbit GIS provides the tools required for automated flight and high precision mapping. The Waypoint Generator creates an automated photo coverage task for the Microdrone UAV by defining an area on your map. Orbit UMP automatically calculates the required waypoints to create a full mono or stereo image coverage of any area. Just draw the area on your map and indicate the main flight axis. Save the flight plan(s) and upload it to the Microdrone UAV. FLIGHT PROCESS: MICRODRONE UAV Orbit GT goes beyond the hobby and toy industry and upgrades the professional Microdrone hardware with innovative software. Looking at the current UAV market, only the MD4-1000 is able to successfully finalize an Orbit UMP waypoint flight of 40 minutes supported by a photogrammetric mount with professional camera. Executing the Orbit UMP flight plan, the Microdrone UAV delivers high-detailed, stable vertical images following a fixed flight pattern of overlapping strips without divergent roll, pith, or yaw. Orbit UMP together with the Microdrone UAV provides the basic needs for a high-accuracy mapping project. For example, a 80m high flight delivers 2-3 cm accuracy on ground level points. Postflight Process: orbit strAbo

An automated post-processing of the uav flight data is easily done by using the Orbit Strabo Photogrammetry extension.

First, the UAV data importer feeds the mapping project with the necessary basic data. Hereafter an automated triangulation based on several point detection and matching techniques with automated blunder detection successfully complete your bundle block adjustment. Finally, the automated DEM maker and Ortorectification tool makes high precision mapping possible and opens the world of different high-end products.

Having these high-end software instruments available at hand - instead of in the cloud - allows the professional user to intervene in the automated process to maximize the accuracy of the results.

Volume Calculation, 3D visualization, True Ortho generation are all based on the automated post-processing of the UAV imagery. But also terrestrial mapping is possible, for example for stereo restitution of heritage projects.

Your photogrammetric results are automatically enabled with a network/internet enabled GIS environment. For registration of data, GIS-based edit tools are used in stereo, making photogrammetry quite simple, intuitive and similar to GIS software to operate. Registration of vector objects, adding construction points and lines, or editing created objects can be easily done in the 3D uav stereo imagery.
