Enjoy the Dolphin Magic at Dubai Dolphinarium

With the school holidays coming to an end, we gave the kids a choice of where we should go for

a family outing. Dubai Dolphinarium was a unanimous choice as the children had both been

begging to go for ages.

With a choice of an 11am, 3pm or 6pm show we opted for the latter thinking we could spend

some time in the park beforehand as the sun went down. Creek Park is stunning: a lush green

open space filled with flora and fauna, which despite the heat, was still enjoyable because of the

shade of the mature trees.

We didn’t realize that the Dolphinarium offered so many additional attractions inside: a Mirror

Maze, Soft Play, a café and the UAE’s only exotic bird show and the curious Dolphin Planet. We

decided to pay for tickets to see the exotic bird show immediately after the dolphins.

Helped to our seats in the VIP area in the packed stadium around the dolphin pool, we were

delighted to see the excitement on our children’s faces.

The show starts with the seals performing tricks, balancing balls, singing and much more. But

the real stars of the show of course are the awe-inspiring dolphins. Regardless of your age it is

impossible not to be impressed as they performed dynamic somersaults, synchronized high

jumps and other spectacular tricks. They interact with the crowd, singing, dancing and even

painting, their intelligence is amazing.

The show lasts around 45 minutes and there is a photo opportunity to meet the dolphins one-on-

one when the show ends. A ‘must do’ and a brilliant memento!

Our second treat was awaiting us, the exotic bird show. We made our way to the air-conditioned

tent to take our seats. This show was as lively and impressive as the dolphins and seals. Macaws,

Cockatoos and Parrots of all colours, shapes and sizes entertained us with their antics as they

flew throughout the audience, talked and even performed math’s which astounded us all!

All in all a lovely early evening entertainment that was magical for all of us. We saw meet and

greet with dolphins being advertised at the newly opened Dolphin Planet, an opportunity to get in

the water and play with them. We haven’t told the kids yet but this is their birthday treat!
