How the LRAD Works

The Long Range Acoustic Device® (LRAD) produces a concentrated 30° beam of sound to broadcast highly intelligible

voice messages (live or pre-recorded) and powerful alarm tones over large distances.

At 20-30 decibels (dB) louder than competing megaphones, the 100X is four to six times louder than systems of comparable size and weight. LRAD® 300X-RE Low Profile Long Range Communications Devicefor Small Vessels & Vehicles

The LRAD 300X is low profile, lightweight and designed for use on a tripod mount configuration or mounted on small vessels, security and defense vehicles and Remote Weapon Stations (RWS). It can be easily transported to provide security personnel long range communications and a highly effective communication and warning system where required. The LRAD 300X has been used for commercial, security and defense applications throughout the world.

LRAD® 500X-RE Long Range Communications Device Compact & Rugged for Fixed Installations & Small /Medium-Sized Vehicles & Vessels

The LRAD 500X is compact, lightweight and designed for applications ranging from fixed security installations to small/medium-sized vehicles and vessels. It can be easily transported to provide security and defense personnel a highly effective communication, hailing and warning capability.

The LRAD 500X has been selected as the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army’s AHD (acoustic hailing device) for small vessels and vehicles. LRAD 500X operators have the capability to issue clear, authoritative verbal commands, followed with powerful deterrent tones to modify behavior, enhance response capabilities and provide more time to scale the use of force if required. The extended frequency range of the LRAD 500X ensures voice commands will be clearly heard and understood.


LRAD® 1000Xi Long Range Communications & Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD)for Fixed Installations & Medium / Large Vessels & Vehicles

Featuring a rugged carbon fiber emitter head integrated with electronics and amplification, the LRAD 1000Xi has an MP3 Control Module that can be affixed to the acoustic array for local activation of prerecorded messages or use of the live microphone. The control module can also be placed away from the acoustic array, allowing for audio operations to be conducted from a remote location.Superior voice intelligibility and an extended frequency range, ensures the LRAD 1000Xi safely communicates commands and instructions, giving operators the capability to issue clear, authoritative verbal commands, followed with powerful deterrent tones to modify behavior, enhance response capabilities and provide more time scale the use of force if required.

LRAD-RX® Integrated Remotely Operated Communications & Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD)for Integrated Surveillance for Vessels & Coastal / Border/ Port Security

The LRAD-RX is designed for integrated applications ranging from maritime vessels to coastal, border and port security solutions. It can be controlled remotely across an IP network enabling system operators to respond to potential threats from a safe environment while creating a complete unmanned perimeter security solution. The LRAD’s ability to immediately interact with a potential threat gives security personnel time to assess a situation and escalate response if necessary.

Featuring an integrated camera, high-intensity searchlight (optional) and robust, IP-address-able full pan and tilt drive for precise aiming and tracking, the LRAD-RX can also be integrated with radar to provide automated intruder alerts. Because of its automated capabilities, the LRAD-RX reduces manpower and false alarms while providing a highly effective, cost efficient remote first responder security solution.

The LRAD-RX can also be integrated with radar to provide automated intruder alerts and the LRAD Controller’s easy to use interface allows a user to visually spot a potential threat on the live video feed, aim the LRAD and deliver a powerful warning message or alert tone from the safety of a secure command center.

The LRAD-RX accepts motion commands from the LRAD Controller software through a point and click interface. Simply click on a target and the LRAD will move to center its acoustic beam onto the target. A standard USB joystick (not included) can also be used to control the LRAD’s motion.

The superior voice intelligibility and clarity of the LRAD 2000X provides a directional audio broadcast that can safely communicate with high intelligibility far beyond standoff distances.

LRAD 2000X operators have the ability to issue clear, authoritative verbal commands, followed with a powerful deterrent tone to alter behavior and enhance response capabilities. The extended frequency range of the LRAD 2000X ensures voice commands will be clearly understood over distances to 3,500 meters (and beyond in certain environments).


LRAD® Wireless System - Long Range Communication from Safe Stand Off Distances

The integrated push to talk button and large volume control knob allow for simple one-handed operation and connects to a standard MP3 player or other audio device used in conjunction with the headset microphone.

The receiver features technology which stabilizes reception and minimizes RF interference by selecting the strongest incoming signal. Additionally, the antennas swivel to achieve an even stronger reception. A LCD display provides channel & frequency information, battery life, RF-input level, audio-output status and accumulated operating time. The receiver operates on power from the LRAD interface connector.

LRAD 360X ONE VOICE - Emergency Response, Mass Notification & Public Address

The LRAD 360X delivers LRAD’s renowned powerful, highly intelligible voice and warning tone broadcasts with perfect 360° coverage. The LRAD 360X broadcasts uninterrupted audio communications over distances up to 1.3Kilometers radius. LRAD 360X emitters can be stacked four high to produce audio up to 143dB at 1meter.

The LRAD 360X can be mounted on buildings and/or stand-alone poles with an option on an integrated fully self-contained, ruggedized trailer. Each 360X 2RU amplifier module drives two emitters. The 360X is built to withstand up to 200 mph winds, is field upgradeable for added area coverage and features flexible power options including battery, generator and solar. An optional TCIP network control interface can be used for remote activation and control of multiple devices.

LRAD® 360Xm Rapidly Deployable Urban Mass Communication & Notification

LRAD’s indoor/outdoor omnidirectional emergency warning and mass notification system is housed in a lightweight, compact form factor. Featuring LRAD’s industry-leading voice intelligibility, every word in a LRAD 360Xm broadcast is clearly heard and understood up to a 0.6sq. km area.

Perfect for urban areas, small campus and industrial sites, the 360Xm can be installed on existing infrastruture or buildings, light poles, etc. The LRAD 360Xm safely delivers voice and emergency broadcasts with LRAD’s unsurpassed clarity and range in uniform 360° coverage.

The 360Xm Small Size is half the size and weight of its “Big Brother” the 360X. This system has been designed to meet the need for smaller areas such as courtyards, parking lots, parks & recreational facilities and multiple systems can be employed to cover larger areas if needed. The small lightweight 360Xm is easily deployable and does not require heavy equipment for transport.
