S AN JOSE CITY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE (SAJELCO) had announced that it will be implementing the approved Feed-In Tariff Allowance (FIT-ALL) starting January 2015 billing.
According to SAJELCO management, we are adhered to the order issued on 10 October 2014 by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) under ERC case No. 2014-109 RC granting provisional authority (PA) to the National Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO) to implement the Feed-In Tariff Allowance (Fit-ALL) rate of Php 0.0406 / kWh effective in the January 2015 billing of all On-Grid electricity consumers. The Fit-ALL is a uniform charge akin to the Universal Charge that is imposed on all On-Grid electricity consumers who are supplied with electricity through the distribution or transmission network. The FIT System was established under Section 7 of Republic Act No. 9513, otherwise known as the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (RE Law). The FIT-All will ensure that the Renewable Energy Developers participating under the FIT System will be paid in full for their actual electricity generation based on the fixed tariff approved by them. The ERC itself anticipates that if the FIT system take place, more renewable energy companies will invest and, therefore develop the renewable energy industry. It should be viewed with optimism that these changes brought about by the development, utilization and commercialization of RE technologies will have a clean and energized future. SAJELCO, as one of the so called “Collection Agents” (CA) of the Feed-In Tariff Allowance (FIT-ALL) under FIT rules (“Resolution No. 16, Series of 2010, as amended by Resolution No 15., Series of 2012 on 19 November 2012) is obliged to adhere with the above Order of the ERC for the implementation of the collection of the FIT-ALL to all consumers of SAJELCO effective January 2015 billing.
The Order further states that all CA are directed to adopt the necessary modifications
to their billing and collection system. For uniformity and transparency, as proposed by the
Manila Electric Company in its Memorandum with Urgent Motion dated 10 November 2014, the
FIT-ALL line item shall be labelled “FIT-ALL (Renewable)” and shall be placed after the Uni-
versal Charge item. This way, the FIT-ALL will not be included in the items forming part of Gross
Receipts, as provided in Section 2.2.1.1 of the FIT-ALL Guidelines. -Jayson Cabute
O n February 2008, SAJELCO apparently decided to get into a Contract for the Supply of Electric Energy (CSEE) of 5 years
with the AES Philippines- Masinloc Power Partners, Co. Ltd. This was due to the notice of its recent power supplier (First
Gen) received last quarter of 2007 which at that time had their renovation needing them to limit their area of supply. Thus,
SAJELCO opened up for other possible better opportunities with regards to its supplier, therefore its contract signed with AES-MPPCL.
After experiencing great partnership with the said Power Supplier, the Cooperative decided to renew again its CSEE for another 5
years.
Mainly, the reason for this patronage is due to the Company’s (AES-MPPCL) Mission and Vision stating its commitment to its client,
more over it sets comparatively to that of the COOPERATIVE (SAJELCO).
One of the AES Phils- Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd’s mission is to serve its clients the highest form of satisfaction they can get.
Not only thus they serve SAJELCO’s need which is enough and reliable source of electricity but also not forgetting its Corporate Social
Responsibility.
AES-MPPCL and SAJELCO conjointly set its CSR focusing on the need for education. Yearly, construction of school buildings to
various barangay elementary schools of San Jose City were constructed and has been donated to the Local Government Unit and also to
include K-channel access for elementary students.
The Cooperative’s aim is to shed light through electrification, to reach even the far flung areas of SAN JOSE CITY, and together
bringing brighter future to children with not just good but better education.
But then, with some uncontrollable circumstances, such as the expected declaration of a state of emergency or crisis in the power
sector in our country. SAJELCO wouldn’t want to put its responsibility at stake. In this foresight, even the cooperative still has a contract to
AES-MPPCL which will expire in 2017, security in having an established and continuous supply of electricity is their main concern when the
crisis emerges.
With not just a good but very reliable service with the Cooperative’s present supplier, AES-MPPCL, and with this crisis that may
strike soon.
Why not to RENEW the contract?
Envisioning this so, the Cooperative and the AES-MPPCL had a negotiation for possible extension of contract earlier to its expiration
and the AES-MPPCL expressed their intention to supplement the contract for another ten (10) beautiful years beginning 2017.

Ang lahat ng bagay di naging matatag
Kung walang nagmahal at walang nag ingat
Matibay mang gamit agad magpapalit
Kung pawardi wardi ang iyong paggamit
Kapag nakita mo na masisira na
At pwede pang gawin para maisalba
Kapag nirepair mo madali lang pala
Pera’y malilibre at di na gagasta
Huwag nating isipin hindi natin pera
Pag ito’y binili sagot ng opisina
Kung laging madalas naman ang pag gasta
Baka bumagsak na ang isang kumpanya
Laging dayalog mo ay wala kang paki
Na kung masira man hindi ka bibili
Kahalintulad mo taong walang silbi
At sa bandang huli ika’y magsisisi
Mahalaga kasi mayroong konsensya
Sa trabaho mo’t maging sa pamilya
Sa adhikain mo at sa pagpapasya
T’yak na malulugod at kalulugdan ka
Kaya sinulat ito para ipamulat
Malasakit natin ay karapat dapat
Anumang larangan susulong uunlad
