Introduction

Terrorism is not just a word but ideology that suffered a lot. There are many countries of the world that are facing this threat in their parts. Important thing is that all countries are trying to counter it but terrorism increased. Pakistan is also the victim of this terrorism. In fact it is suffering a lot than any other country. The reason of that it’s big functional boundary which is associated with big countries of the world like India, Iran, Afghanistan and China.

What is Terrorism? Terrorism can be defined as an act of violence

to frighten the citizen of a nation for some secret political purpose. It highlights the destroying strengths of the terrorists’ organizations needed by the super powers of the world. Terrorism is considered to be the most alarming problem faced by the present age.

History

In origin of terrorism in Pakistan is found in two important events of history that have brought intolerance and reluctance among the masses that to terrorism.

• Iran revolution in 1979• Soviet war in Afghanistan

Iran revolution in 1979

After the Iran revolution in 1979, the religion has become a controversial issue in Pakistan that led to sectarian violence Pakistan.

Soviet war in Afghanistan

The Russian occupation of Afghanistan, is the most critical event leading to the spread of militancy.

“State terrorism” may refer to acts of terrorism conducted by a state against a

foreign state or people

“Bioterrorism” is terrorism involving the intentional release or dissemination of biological agents. These agents are bacteria, viruses, or toxins.

In “Narco terrorism”, terrorists are making, transporting, and selling illegal drugs to fund terrorists activities.

“Religious Terrorism” is motivated by religious ideologies and grievances

“Nuclear terrorism” refers to a number of different ways nuclear materials might be exploited as a terrorist tactic

“Cyber terrorism” is the use of Computer System and Telecommunications as a tool to attack

• Many different categories of terrorists and terrorism that are currently in use are:

Separatist Nationalistic Political Religious Social Domestic

Categories of terrorists groupsSeparatist: Separatist groups are those with the goal of separation from existing entities through independence, political autonomy, religious freedom or domination.Nationalistic: The loyalty and devotion to a nation, and the national consciousness derived from placing one nation's culture and interests above those of other nations or groups.Political: Political ideologies are concerned with the structure and organization of the forms of government and communities.

• Major attacks happened in all around the world are:

World Trade Center. Mumbai Attacks. Karachi Bombings. Peshawar Attack.

World Trade Center

• On September 11, 2011.• Happened in New York City

and Washington DC areas. • 19 men hijacked Four planes.• 3,000 people died. 

Mumbai Attacks

• On 28 November, 2008.• Terrorists targeted Royal hotel

Taj Mahal.• Attack included shootings,

bombings, hostage crisis and siege.

• Approximately 166 people died including 10 attackers and injured more than 600 people.

Karachi Bombing

• On October 18, 2007.• The blasts occurred on the

way from the airport to the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

• Impact of the explosions killing 20 policemen instantly.

• 139 people died.

Peshawar Attack

• On 16 December, 2014.• Seven terrorist attack on the Army Public

School.• Special forces killed all seven terrorists and

rescued 960 people.• 145 people killed in this attack.• Deadliest terrorists attack ever to occur in

Pakistan.

CAUSES OF TERRORISM

• Illiteracy: Illiteracy is the root cause of terrorism. More

than one in 5 men aged 15-25 unable to read and write.

•Poverty

Regarding poverty it is also a cause of terrorism. And it is said “A hungry man is an angry man”. Majority of

people are under poverty line.

•DissatisfactionAnother reason can be dissatisfaction. When a person is dissatisfied from the

laws and government and think that his rights are deprived, he lead to such acts.

•Lack of proper Government

Lack of proper government set up and proper coordination and

information sharing between various institution of government is also the

cause of terrorist activities.

EFFECTS OF TERRORISM

• MigrationDue to war on terrorism, local people are migrating to another areas of pakistan. Due to these migrations employment

problems are becoming serious.

SOCIAL IMPACT

Social impact have also been caused by this war. In a society where terror exists cannot be healthy. Social disorganization has occurred due to terrorism.

PHYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM

Terrorism has also brought about psychological problem. Fear in the hearts

of people is created. Depression and confusion has also increased.

ZARB-E- AZB(A solution to terrorism in Pakistan)

Operation Zarb-e-Azb is a joint military offensive being conducted by Pakistan Armed Forces against various militant groups, including

the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), al-Qaeda, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan

(IMU) . The operation was launched by the Pakistan Armed Forces on 15 June 2014 in North Waziristan as a renewed effort against militancy in the wake of the 8 June attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Up to 30,000 Pakistani soldiers are involved in

Zarb-e-Azb, to flush out all foreign and local militants hiding in North Waziristan. As a result of the operation, overall security

situation improved and terrorist attacks in Pakistan dropped to a six year low since 2008
