Today you are going to create a story map to retell the story.
A story map uses a combination of pictures, words and sentences to retell a story.
There are some examples on the next slide for you to look at.

Order the events of the story first.
Remember to include a combination of pictures, words and sentences. Add some
colour too.

you write a description tomorrow.

For example:

Can you think of 4 more of your own objects or creatures found in the underwater
world in the story to describe in the same way?

Today you are going to create and describe your own underwater world creature
using items of clothing found in a washing machine similar to the ones in the story –
sock fish, hat turtles, t-shirt octopuses.
Draw a picture of your underwater world creature. Think about the item(s) of
clothing you will use. Remember to name your new species! Add some colour too.
Children working at home, with permission, perhaps you could use real items of
clothing to make your underwater world creature. We’d love to see some photos of them on our FB page! ☺
