It is old news that Yamaha’s latest turbochargedGenesis 998cc engine has the power and torque to cause most people to raise their eyebrows. When combined with one of our optimising kits, you will have lots of fun for many winters to come!

At Maptun Powersports VTECHTUNED, we are continually working on developing new hardware and new firmwareto let you experience the thrills of riding your Yamaha Sidewinder. At present, we offer five different tuning kits that deliver over 300 hp! Stage 2-4 includes an fastspool option that allow the turbo to start working at lower rpms that result in a 40 hp more powerful midrange.

When you choose Maptun, you can optionally purchase your own MaptunerX controller that enables you to easily switch between different software packages and also get free access to new software releases developed after the purchase date. MaptunerX can also perform diagnostics such as reading and deleting error codes. Additionally,it reads values in real time and saves these whilst driving, for later analysis.

MAPTUNER X UNLEASH THE HIDDEN POWER OF YOUR YAMAHA SIDEWINDER

With over 100 retailers worldwide and extensive use of MaptunerX, we can collect the necessary data needed to customise your firmware for optimal performance and durability – no matter where or how you drive.

MaptunerX performs a so-called reflash. In short, MaptunerX first reads the original vehicle firmware to analyse and look up the various parameters such as load pressure, ignition timing, fuel, various types of restrictions, etc. These parameters are then adapted to various conditions, such as the exhaust system, air kits, diffusers, climatic conditions, etc. This is one of the most complex ways to optimise the engine firmware, but undoubtedly the safest!

MaptunerX always uses the original vehicle firmware as the originating point, which means that the engine control unit is always aware of the increased power and thus at any point can adjust the inherent safety features originally programmed instead of defeating them or, as is often the case, ignoring them. Maptun is continually developing new features and support for new vehicles. Your MaptunerX will never become outdated because it automatically updates its firmware every time it is connected to a computer and synchronised with our server.

MAPTUNERX supports numerous makes MaptunerX also supports Yamaha watercraft, outboards and UTVs. Other brands, including Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Lynx, Polaris, Kawasaki, Can-Am and Arctic Cat, are also supported. Additionally, we carry plenty of features and optimisation kits for cars. MaptunerX can be used for an unlimited number of vehicles;all you need is one (1) license per vehicle. Once the license has been activated for the vehicle, you gain free access to all the software plus the ability to switch between these as you like, including the original vehicle software. Factory-refurbished and rebuilt original turbo to maintain optimum drivability and modified in both compressor housing and turbine housing for maximum flow and a fast spool-up. Yamaha offers high quality and an exceptional engine that always delivers, regardless of height, fox float shocks and the 3” pad. This list is longer, but the quality and above all the sheer joy of driving is what won me over.

What benefits do you see with YAMAHA SIDEWINDER over other brands?

I think the kit that includes the sports exhaust system and software upgrade (Stage 2 with around 250 hp) would work for just about anyone. The response is fantastic, and the nice, quiet ride makes this a good choice both for the family and the more demanding off-trail rider with plentyof enjoyment when riding your snowmobile!

What MAPTUNERX software do you recommend to novices?

I’m an all-in guy, which is why I use a snorkel, the RJWC exhaust, custom diffusers, a turbo upgrade constantly running at max revs and of course the 300+ hp option. This also requires an experienced driver because the bike becomes extremely aggressive. If you can master a beast like that, I guarantee you’ll take first place!!

In addition to SOFTWARE updates, a wide range of hardware is alsoavailable. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD RECOMMEND?

I chose Maptun because my snowmobile dealer carries the range, and as such I was lucky. Maptun’s know-how, pushing of limits and responsiveness, and the fact that they really care about what you want from your machine and make it happen means everything. It’s like sitting on a rocket: the response is extraordinary and the power simply awesome!

Last season, 3 buddies and I rode on machines with varying degrees of tuning. We did not experience a single instance of malfunction nor any error codes, which to me is a mark of high quality and ruggedness.

How is operational reliability and service life affected when optimising yourSidewinder?

My own snowmobile has performed 100 percent, and in addition to the actual programming option I can highly recommend, for example, the Data Logger that makes it possible to save data when I drive and analyse the results later.

In addition to the software upgrades, maptunerx has a lot more to offer.Which ones do you use the most?

Hold on tight to the handle and be careful. After all, you are face-to-face with extreme forces!Is there anything else to consider?

I contacted my Yamaha dealer who installed the software in just 10 minutes. The variators of course require some work, but even if you include a coffee break it shouldn’t take longer than an hour or so.

How hard is it to optimise your Sidewinder with maptun powersportsproducts?
