UNIT 04 – WHAT CAN YOU SEE

DEMONSTRATIVES

What are Demonstratives?

Demonstrative pronouns identify someone orsomething.

Eg;- This is my chair.

That is Rukman’s house

These are her clothes.

Those are migrating birds.

Demonstrative adjectives describe a noun.

E.g. This chair is mine.(Noun)

That house is expensive.(Noun)

These clothes are wet.(Noun)

Those birds are flying.(Noun)

So, THIS, THAT, THESE and THOSE are demonstratives. All ofthem act as
