It's nice when everything comes to-

Each of our schools is staffed with year-

round professional language teachers.

From beginners to novices, everyone

is welcome: Our individual courses are

not only catored for ages but also for

language level. We even have a leisure

programme, which is well organized

and extremely varied. And everyone is

encouraged to use the newly learned

language throughout!

This is why we want you to explore

your school's surroundings and all it

has to offer. Our schools will be a

bridge to the locals and culture of the

region: something we have been suc-

cessfully doing for the past 35 years.

Supervision

Throughout the trip learners are

accompanied by our „Teamers”; young

adults between the ages of 21 and

30 who have been specially trained

to accommodate the requirements

of our young learners. Our Teamers

come to us from all over Europe and

America, and communicate with

students exclusively in the language

being taught. Each Teamer is respon-

sible for the supervision of up to 15

students, accompanying the group

throughout the day, as well as staying

with them at the residence.

Teamers are also responsible for the

organisation of the leisure activity

programme. Students aged 17 and

under are expected to observe a

curfew and follow the full leisure pro-

gramme. Students on our U20 pro-

gramme aged between 18 and 21

also enjoy the complete support of

the Teamers, and while not bound by

the leisure programme, are encour-

aged to take part in any activities

which are of interest to them.

Leisure program

The learning journey continues as

soon as classes finish! With our com-

prehensive leisure programme stu-

dents have the opportunity to really

discover their chosen destination.

A two-week language course gener-

ally includes a big variety of activi-

ties plus at least 1 full-day excursion

and 2 half-day excursions (see table

below for more details). Of course,

students are also given some free

time to socialise in the afternoons and

evenings!

Teaching time

The Standard Course general-

ly takes place between 9:00 and

12:30, Monday to Friday.

Students who choose the Intensive

Course have additional les-

sons between 13:00 and 14:30.

Teaching times can occasionally

vary, depending on the course

location, and classes are sometimes

held in the afternoon.

Each lesson consists of 45 minutes

of learning.

Evaluation

Students are placed into classes

according to their current lan-

guage skills. The majority of our

students take an online language

test prior to commencing their

programme, however if this is not

available, students may take the

exam on the first Monday of their

course.

Learning materials are provided to

students throughout their course,

and there will never be more than

15 participants in each class.

Our courses

Regardless of your choice of course,

you’ll develop your language abil-

ity both quickly and effectively.

Our Standard Course guarantees a

dramatic boost to your confidence

in a foreign language, with focused

teaching in all 4 skill areas: speak-

ing, listening, reading and writ-

ing with 20 lessons per week.

Our Intensive Course builds on our

Standard Course, with 10 additional

lessons per week, guaranteeing the

fastest possible language acquisition.

Transfer

Our U20 programmes offer the full

package – students are in good hands

from beginning to end of their trips.

Students will be picked up at the

airport upon arrival and brought to

their accommodation in comfort. For

this, we require the student’s full flight

details at least 4 weeks before the

course commencement.

Transfer time-windows vary depend-

ing on the destination and detailed

information can be found on the

individual school pages of this bro-

chure. Students travel to and from the

airport with their fellow classmates,

most of whom they will be meeting

for the first time.

The transfer provides students with

the first of many opportunities to

make new friends. Students generally

check in to their accommodation in

the afternoon, and vacate their room

in the morning of the day of their

departure. They may be asked to

pay a key deposit when staying at a

residence, which will be returned on

their day of departure.

We understand that sampling new

food can play a big part in discovering

a new country and its culture.

Students are provided with breakfast,

dinner and either a cooked or packed

lunch (which consists of a sandwich, a

drink and a dessert). Students always

have the opportunity to try some-

thing typical of the country they are

visiting.

Meals Allergies & Dietary Needs

Snacks outside of mealtime may be

purchased by the student individu-

ally.

Each year we welcome thousands

of students to our schools and boast

over 35 years’ experience in catering

to students with a variety of dietary

needs.

We ask you to let us know of any

allergies/dietary requirements when

making your booking, as well as infor-

mation about any medicines you

take. This information is given to the

Teamers and, if necessary, the

homestay. Depending on the type

of allergies/dietary requirements, a

surcharge may be applied to cover

the additional costs incurred in pro-

viding special food.

service parents are informed of the

name, telephone number and the

address of the transfer driver well in

advance of the start of the trip.

Club Village (Malta only)

Our Club Village in Malta is truly

unique. The accommodation is right

on campus, alongside the language

school, swimming pool, restaurant

and sports facilities.

Choose from a range of room types

from a twin-bed room to a 7-bed

dorm. Our Teamers also stay in the

Club Village.

Joint accommodation

If you’re planning to travel with friends

and would like to share your room

with someone in particular please

let us know well in advance so we

can take this into consideration when

allocating accommodation.

We can’t guarantee all requests, but

we will do our best! Note: in rare cases

Residence / College

At a residence, students stay closer

to school than they would with a

homestay, which means less travel-

time and more time enjoying their

surroundings. Students who choose

to stay in a residence, will get to stay

with other language students from

all over the world, allowing them to

put their new language skills to use

in a thoroughly international environ-

ment. Our Teamers also stay at the

residence. Our Colleges offer accom-

modation and classes all in one place.

Homestay

Students staying at a homestay enjoy

total immersion in their chosen lan-

guage and culture. By staying with

locals, students get to discover the

customs and idioms of their desti-

nation from the word go, sampling

authentic local cooking and uncover-

ing how the locals really live.

Learning continues when les-

sons finish. Our friendly homes-

tays are experienced in hosting

international students and play an

integral part in their learning expe-

rience. Rooms are always shared

with other fellow students of the

same gender.

Depending on the location, host fam-

ilies may be located outside of the

town centre, meaning students get to

know parts of their destination which

usually remain undiscovered by tour-

ists. Many, but not all homestays offer

Wi-Fi Internet. Where unavailable, stu-

dents can take advantage of internet

cafés in the local area.

Au Pair / Demi Pair

If you enjoy travelling, you can now

experience a different country in

a very special way – as an au pair

or demi pair. This is your chance to

plunge into a whole new cultural

experience. This programme is ideal,

if you would like to make the most of

your gap or holiday time, just before

you start studying or working.

To ensure that you have the cor-

rect foundations of your destina-

tion country’s language, we will first

teach you the fundamentals in one

of our 30 centres worldwide and

then help you to find the perfect

host family.

As an au pair or demi pair, you’ll

experience your chosen culture

first-hand, pick up the language

quickly and also make life-long

friends. In some cases, families ask

their au pairs or demi pairs to teach

the children their native language.

As your time as an au pair or demi

pair is certain to lead to you master-

ing the local language, this is the

perfect example of how mutually

beneficial being an au pair is for

everyone involved.

For several months, you will be

living as an au pair with a host

family, take care of their children

and help with small housekeeping

duties. Your working hours, length

of stay and pocket money are

depending on the host country.

A minimum of 8-weeks language

course is obligatory at the begin-

ning of this programme.

As a demi pair, you will attend

language classes five days a

week in the morning to learn and

enhance the necessary language

skills for your occupation.

In the afternoon, you will take

care of your duties as an au pair.

Highschool Programme in Canada

Attending a High School abroad is

a real adventure, complete with a

happy ending. You'll broaden your

horizons, gain knowledge and get to

know subjects you definitely didn't

know about before.

you about the local people, their

country and traditions. And that will

includes many classrooms but also a large

pool, a beach volleyball court, a bar, a restau-

Sprachcaffe Malta is the ideal place to learn

and unwind.

The choice is all yours: You can either live in a

homestay (sharing a room with 2 beds with

other language students) or you can share a

1. Enrolment: Fill in the application form, scan it and send it to [email protected]. A deposit of 20% of the total amount is due at the time of registration. With your application, you commit yourself to the services requested and book-ing conditions. After having received your application and deposit, we will send the confirmation of enrolment and the invoice. The welcome pack with extra information and the address of your accommodation will be sent after you have settled the remaining balance. The invoice must be paid in full four weeks before arrival.

2. Change of booking: Any change (e.g. arrival date, accommodation, etc.) required up to 28 days before departure will incur a fee of 45GBP/55EUR/55USD/70CAD or equivalent (USA in accordance with ACCET and local state regulations). Afterwards we will do our utmost, but cannot guarantee the fulfillment of the request made since extra costs may be incurred. In that case, the rebooking charge may exceed 45GBP/55EUR/55USD/70CAD.

3. Cancellation: In the case of cancellation, we will charge following fees:

Cancellation insurance is available at 2% of the total amount (minimum 45GBP/55EUR/55USD/70CAD). The insurance fee must be settled at the time of registration and will only apply if you cancel prior to departure due to health reasons (a written confirmation from the relevant doctor is required as proof). In the unlikely event the school is unable to create a group course due to an insufficient number of students of the same level, smaller classes for a reduced number of lessons will be provided instead (standard = 12 lessons / intensive = 18 lessons). The minimum number of participants is 4. Under the rare circumstances of our being forced to cancel, all fees paid for Sprachcaffe Languages PLUS services will be refunded.

4. Visa: In order to provide the letter of acceptance required by the embassy for issuing a visa, 40% of the total amount should be paid together with an additional charge of non-refundable 40 GBP/50 EUR/ 50 USD/ 65 CAD or equivalent (in USA and Canada this amount is included in the registration fee); non-refundable shipping fees may apply. In the case of visa refusal, a full refund minus the additional, non-refundable fees can only be made if the student provides the letter of refusal issued by the embassy at least 15 days before departure (evidence of visa refusal is required). After this date we will consider the participation of the student as confirmed and normal cancellation/rebooking charges will apply. In case the visa has not yet been issued 16 days before departure, we strongly recommend postponing the course. In this case, the first rebooking fee will not be charged.

5. Acceptable forms of payment: By bank transfer: The relevant account number will be on the invoice. Please send us a copy of the transfer order. All bank charges will be incurred by you. By credit card: Upon your notification, the appropriate form will be sent. It will need to be completed with the name of the credit card issuer, card number, expiry date and signature. An additional 2% credit card fee will be charged.

6. Insurance: Neither agent, operator, nor the school will be held responsible in any way for any accident, illness, loss of personal effects or change in personal circumstances arising at any time prior to or during the course. We therefore strongly recommend a personal travel insurance (incl. Health, Accident, Liability, Deportation: Basic protection from 1 GBP/1,30 EUR/1.30 USD/1.70 CAD per person per day plus a service charge of 10 GBP/13 EUR/13 USD/ 17 CAD).

7. Liability: Parents of minors agree that neither Sprachcaffe Languages PLUS nor the homestay shall be liable for damage or problems caused either negligently or intentionally by their children while participating in trips. Parents and their children who are still minors recognize and accept the laws and the normal code of conduct of the country, which they are visiting.

8. Rights to image and film material: By agreeing to our general terms and conditions, you are accepting that Sprachcaffe Languages PLUS has the right to use any photos, video and sound recordings, which may be produced in the course of a language programme. These materials may be used by us for promotional purposes without cost implication or the need for a separate authorization from you.

9. Disclaimer: While all information in this is accurate at the time of publication, the content may be subject to updates. We reserve the right to refuse admission or to dismiss any student from school/accommodation without any refund in the event of misconduct or unsatisfactory attendance. The school expects students to adhere to the rules set. Errors and changes are reserved.
