We are Baettr

In 2019 the new brand, Baettr, is launched as a celebration of our commitment to making wind energy available to all parts of the world.

Rapid global expansion

Global turbine development is growing. To maintain strategi-cally advantageous proximity to emerging markets, Vestas establishes several new facili-ties. New facilities include the Chinese casting plant and machining facility in Xuzhou and Tianjin, respectively.

Purchase of Windcast Group

Windcast and their four iron foundries across Norway, Germany and Sweden is purchased by Vestas. The purchase marks the completion of Vestas insourcing the entire turbine design and manu-facturing value chain.

Global Castings is founded

The German industrial holding company VTC Partners GmbH enters a strategic deal with Vestas. Two machining units, four casting units and 1,000+ employees across Norway, Sweden, Germany, China and Denmark is purchased, and Global Castings is born.

New facility in Stade, Germany

Global Castings enters a joint venture with Norderland/Et-anax Group. The facility, with its 25,000 ton capacity, handles casting and machining of elements up to 80 tons. The in-corporation is a strategic move in bringing our partners into the future of turbine manufacturing.

Machine shop in Lem established

Vestas predicts the growth of the wind energy industry. To prepare, a brand new machine shop is built in Lem, Denmark. The 30,000m2 facility supports Vestas machining of nacelles and turbine blades. Modernized many times, the Lem facility continues to serve as our head quarter.

ApproachDesigning components for optimal manufacturing processes and lowest cost for wind turbines requires skill, experience and close communication. Simple design flaws can have costly consequences. Cause serious delays. And, sometimes, compro-mise safety. By letting our experienced engineers support you in design for manufacturing, you ensure consistent, cost competitive and specifica-tion-accurate manufacturing of your components.

We realize that time-to-market for new products is crucial. By spending time in the design and feasibility phases this ensures proper design for stable processes in serial production. Approach We have been casting components in serial produc-tion exclusively for the wind industry for more than a decade. Today, pioneering OEM’s in renewable energy rely on us to provide cost-competitive cast-ed components, manufactured in accordance with specifications, for consistent quality and perfor-mance.

The wind energy market is changing. Continuous market pressure for lowering levelized cost of elec-tricity means efficient manufacturing and proper use of resources is the key to succeeding. Approach Perfection is in the details. We provide this through some of the most developed machining technology on the market. Through machining facilities set up in close proximity to our casting and surface treat-ment facilities, as well as OEM assembly sites. This means that your components are machined preci-sion, and always in compliance with specifications. Machining is a crucial process in transforming the raw casted items into assembly-ready com-ponents. Inaccurate machining can cause costly

delays and quality issues at the OEM´s assembly line. To provide our partners with both faster and better machining, and to ensure all components are delivered according to specifications, we have invested heavily in technology and internal processes. It is our goal to continue to secure a globally optimized supply chain, with machining facilities in close proximity to casting, coating, assembly and the OEM assembly facilities.
