Hospital master planning involves complete understanding of the functionality of the building. Zoning is carefully worked out keeping in mind the circulation pattern of different users including the staff, patients, visitors, doctors and material. In general, the complex is zoned into three areas – clinical area, residential area & service area and for a teaching hospital, an institutional area is also separately identified. This ensures hassle free road network system for easy circulation.

Hospital buildings are ideally designed with a separate OPD and IPD blocks to regulate the crowd. At L&T, we conceptualise different design solutions to provide a negative space between these two blocks with elegant design of covered atrium or central open to sky courtyards with beautifully landscaped garden. The sophisticated construction methods adopted by L&T provides sufficient flexibility for future expansion of infrastructure. A large spanned structure with flat slab design ensures sufficient height to run all the services above the false ceiling in a disciplined manner.
