Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the nation’s leading provider of K-12 STEM programs.

 A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, PLTW serves more than 6,500 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The U.S. Department of Commerce  estimates that STEM jobs will grow 17 % by 2018

By 2018, the U.S. will have more than 1.2 million unfilled STEM jobs because there will not be enough qualified workers to fill them.

PLTW IMPLEMENTATION

Gateway to Technology: Schools must offer the two foundation courses within the first year and may select any specialization courses.

Engineering: Schools must offer the two foundation courses and a minimum third course by the end of the third year of implementation:

Biomedical: Must offer three PLTW Biomedical Science foundation courses within three years of program commencement.
