Master’s Degree OptionsMaster of ScienceRequirements: Generally 30-33 credit hours which includes a project or thesis Departments: AE, BioE, CPE (ChemE or PetE), CEAE (ArchE, CE, EnvE, EnvS), EECS (CompE, CompS, ElecE, IT), EMGT (EMGT or PMGT), and METimeline for degree completion: 1-3 years
Master of EngineeringRequirements: 30 credit hours of coursework and considered a professional degreeDepartments: AE and PMGTTimeline for degree completion: 1-2 years
Other Master’s OptionsRequirements: 30 credit hours of coursework and considered a professional degreeDepartments: CEAE - Master of Civil Engineering (MCE) & Master of Construction Management (MCM)Timeline for degree completion: 1-3 years
Doctoral Degree OptionsDoctor of PhilosophyRequirements: Generally a minimum of 45 credit hours beyond the MS or 60 credit hours direct PhD; Milestones include completion of the qualifying exam*, comprehensive exam, and a research dissertationDepartments: AE, BioE, CPE (ChemE or PetE), CEAE (ArchE, CE, EnvE, EnvS), EECS (CompE, CompS, ElecE, IT), EMGT (EMGT or PMGT), and METimeline for degree completion: 3-7 years (MS not required)
Doctor of EngineeringRequirements: Considered a professional degree, many students work full-time and complete the DE part-time with a strong connection to their current position in industry; Milestones include completion of the qualifying exam*, comprehensive exam, and a research dissertationDepartments: AE onlyTimeline for degree completion: 5-7 years
