    ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT

    Programme Objectives:

    Our Engineering and Managementprogram addresses students who intend to work for international companiesinfunctions which require both, an engineering backgroundas well as a thorough understanding of management practices.

    Therefore, the program provides a sound engineering educationwith modules such as engineering mechanics, material

    sciences, mechanical design, computer science, mathematics, software development and electrical engineering. Besides,

    above mentioned job requirements regarding management know-howare met by lectures such as accounting, marketing

    and controlling. In addition to those competencies, soft-skillsare trained, e.g. by team projects and student

    presentations.

    The studies also prepare students for international projects and positions . Specific modules such as intercultural

    studies, selected topics in international management and a second foreign language are part of the curriculum.

    Students gain further international exposure by studying abroad at one of our partner universities.Internships , which are

    scheduled during the 5th semester, help to gain work experience as well as business contacts which may lead to future

    employment.

    Last-but-no-least,lectures are taughtin Englisch - the language of international business. While attending lectures taught

    in the English language, students are encouraged to learn German as their 2nd foreign language(courses scheduledduring semesters 1, 2 and 3).

    Dual Studies:

    The curriculum is open for adjustments to meet the requirements of dual education programs of international companies.

    Content:

    The curriculum consists of seven clusters:

    1) Engineering & science

    courses include mathematics, physics, mechanical design, materials sciences, engineering mechanics, computer

    sciences, electrical engineering, software development, power engineering

    2) Management

    courses include business administration, financial accounting, cost accounting, controlling, marketing and selected topics

    in international management

    3) Interdisciplinary courses

    courses include project & quality management, production systems, production planning & logistics, business information

    systems, automation technologies, start-up project

    4) International communication

    courses include an additional foreign language: Spanish/French/German or Chinese, and intercultural studies

    5) Internship/project

    includes a company internship and a team project

    6) Bachelor's thesis

    specialisation areas:

    Programme Overview:

    The regular period of studyis 7 semesters.

    During the first and second semester,fundamentals in engineering and management are taught.

    During the third and fourth semester, students attend more advanced and interdisciplinary lectures .

    Industry internships are scheduled for the fifth semester.

    During the sixth and seventh semester, student specialise by choosing advanced modules in Automotive Engineering,

    Aerosp ace Engin eerin g, Ind ustrial Engin eerin g, a nd Produc t man agem ent.

    During the seventh semester students complete their studies by writing a bachelor's thesis.

    To study the Bachelors programme Engineering and Management at our university youll have to fulfill some prerequisites:

    1. Online Application:

    The programme is only offered in the winter semester.

    To apply at our university, first youll have to fill out the online application:

    Please fill out the form and send it online to the university. Secondly, send your application documents as hardcopytogether with the required documents (legally attested) to the university. You will find a list of required documents on your

    online application form.

    Appli cation perio d fo r the winter semeste r is May 2nd to Ju ly 15th. Please consi der that th e o nlin e a ppli cation is o nly

    possible in this space of time - applications which reach the university later than July 15 thcannot be taken into

    consideration.

    Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt sends the admission/rejection letters to the applicants by middle of August.

    2. uni-assist

    All foreign unive rsity appl icants wanting to stu dy at a Bavaria n Uni versity of Ap plie d Sc ience s in Bavari a m ust su bmit their

    school leaving certificates to uni-asist. Uni-assist generates a preliminary inspection documentation (VPD) for the

    applicants. It reviews their grade sheets and converts them to the German grade system. The VPD includes all information

    on whether you are allowed to study all courses of studies (general university qualification) or only specific subjects

    (subject-specific university qualification).

    Please consider that you also have to apply at the same time at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt during the application

    period. The recognition of your documents from uni-assist has to be attached to your application for Ingolstadt University or

    has to be handed in until July 27th.

    3. English language skills

    The study programme is offered completely in the English language. Sufficient knowledge of the English language,

    demonstrated by the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with at least 197 points or internet-

    based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with at least 71 points or an equivalent certificate, is strongly

    recommended.

    German participants my choose some basic modules in the German language.

    4. German language skills

    After the first s emster studen ts will have to d ocume nt kn owledg e o f the German lang uage , le vel A1.

    5. Preparatory internship

    The study programme requires a preparatory internship. 4 weeks have to be completed before the start of the study

    6. Tuition fees
