Step One Laser Processing2.5kW, FOMII 3015 NT

The FOMII 3015 NT was developed at our manufacturing facility in Brea, California. It was designed after listen-ing to customers who required a 2.5kW laser and refused to com-promise cut quality, machine accuracy, and machine expandability. Fabricators also wanted the ability to add automation later and not be forced to trade-up to another laser, thereby increasing their capital investment.

Fanuc Laser Resonator

The specially tuned AF2000i-C LU2.5 is designed specifically for Amada. Its improved mode stability, faster response time, and reduced M2 value (higher beam quality) are unique to Amada lasers. This resonator provides a continuous wave output of 2.5kW and pulses up to 2.7kW.

Sectionalized Dust Collection System

A CNC controlled damper and plenum system under the cutting area provides superior dust and smoke extraction. This system assures consistent, high-speed cutting and excellent part quality. The system is designed to operate in zones, so the dampers are open directly beneath the area where the cutting head is, while the dampers elsewhere remain closed. The machine enclosure, with telescoping doors, further helps to keep dust and particulate in the cutting area for more efficient removal.

A dust collector is provided to col-lect the fumes and air borne particulate matter created by the cutting process – essential for effective and safe operation of a laser-cutting machine.

quickly and easily. A high-speed shuttle table can be added at any time as your production needs change. Then, to take productivity to the next level, Amada’s

advanced automation systems can be customized to your specific needs.

Advanced Cutting Technologies

CleanCut™ provides a high quality, oxide-free, weld-ready edge for mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium. CleanCut™ utilizes a high-pressure inert assist gas (typically nitrogen) to prevent oxidation of the cut edge.

AirCut™ uses clean dry and filtered air to process mild steel, alu-minum and stainless steel if the application permits. Using AirCut™ can increase cutting speeds by as much as 50% over standard cutting with oxygen.

HS-2010 High-Speed Cutting Head

Features and Benefits:• Cartridge-style focus lenses can be removed and replaced without any tools.• Lens burn detection to stop the machine and alert the operator of any

possible burn damage to the cutting lens.• Auto-focus control (B-axis).• The automatic nozzle cleaner will clean the nozzle head on command

by the operator or as part of a set cycle time.

Power Save Function

The Power Save Function on the FOMII 3015 NT can save over 60% of the energy consumed during idle. The machine recognizes non-movement of the cutting head and begins a preset countdown. Once the countdown is complete, the laser drops into an initial power save mode. A secondary countdown then begins. Once that’s complete, the laser then drops into a full Eco mode. When cutting is ready to resume, the laser begins instantly from the initial power save mode and approximately 40 seconds from the Eco mode.

High-Speed Shuttle TableThe high-speed shuttle table design improves overall machine utilization by externalizing the material setup process. The ability to switch tables at high speed, ensures faster spark-to-spark times while greatly increasing machine utilization. Each table incorporates manual clamps so that materials of different thicknesses can be secured to the table.

AutomationThe FOMII 3015 NT allows for complete expansion into a fully automated laser cell. The laser machine includes all of the necessary wiring to connect automation modules. All of Amada’s laser automation solutions are compatible.
