In this booklet you will find a variety of information to assist with the proper installation of the EnergyPod. Though it is designed to provide as much flexibility as possible, there are some important considerations to take into account regarding technical requirements and correct placement of the EnergyPod.

In addition, our package for you includes the following:

Electrical Requirement1 standard power outlet (110 - 220V model dependant).

Electrical PlacementIf a raised floor is available, access to electrical outlets can be placed in the opening of the EnergyPod’s base (see diagram). Alternatively, the electrical outlets can be placed on the wall by the EnergyPod. Make sure to arrange and fixate the power cable properly to avoid tripping over it.

Recommended PlacementIn order to maximize privacy, we recommend that the user of the EnergyPod faces away from others (e.g. toward a wall or corner).

With multiple units, we recommend a distance of at least 3 feet or 1 meter between each unit.

Access to the EnergyPod can be from the left or the right onall models. Access from one side is sufficient.

Relevant PressSince its creation in 2004, the MetroNaps EnergyPod has become an icon of the modern workplace. With over one billion impressions worldwide including hundreds of fashion magazines, newspapers and broadcasts, the EnergyPod has been featured in a variety of journals dedicated to design.

WallpaperFor an issue of Wallpaper magazine, Nick Knight and Peter Saville collaborated to create an editorial piece that featured the EnergyPod in a two page spread. Copies of the magazine are available upon request.

Interior DigestThe EnergyPod was featured in the Russion Interior Digest magazine. The magazine featured the concept of having a dedicated rest space without the need of a separate room and highlighted the EnergyPod’s unique relaxation features such as vibration, lights and sounds.

DwellThe American Dwell magazine, which is devoted to architecture and design, featured the EnergyPod in its article “Rest Easy”.

BrutusBrutus, a highly-respected design magazine published in Japan, featured the EnergyPod on the cover of one of their issues, dedicated to the importance of sleep under the title “Sleep better, feel better”.

Sleep and NappingSleep, along with nutrition and exercise, is one of the three pillars of physical health. It affects how we look, feel and perform on a daily basis, and can have a major impact on our overall quality of life.

The National Sleep Foundation, an American non-profit organization supporting thepublic education about sleep, reported that:

• 33% of adults surveyed sleep only 6 1/2 hours nightly.• 40% of adults admit that the quality of their work suffers when they’re sleepy.• 68% say their ability to concentrate is diminished by sleepiness.• 19% report making some mistakes and errors due to sleepiness.• Sleepy drivers cause approximately 100,000 car crashes each year.• 33% of adults surveyed would nap at work, if allowed.

Naps have been shown to benefit almost every aspect of human wellness.The benefits of napping are many of which include:

• Increased memory retention• Better learning ability• Better creativity• Improved mood• Overall increased productivity and performance

Regular naps have also been demonstrated to reduce the risk of cardio-vasculardiseases and thus help you live longer.
