1. Def: Fossil Fuels are energy from once-living things. (coal, natural gas, and oil)

Fossil fuels are called hydrocarbons. Their energy is found in the bonds between carbon and hydrogen atoms.

Where do fossil fuels come from?100-500 million years ago (in the time of the dinosaurs), organisms died…

… and were buried in lakes, swamps, or sea.
