• Performtwo-pointresistancemeasure-mentsbetweensurfaceswherebondsaredesired.Youshouldhavelessthan0.1ohms.

• Checkforexcessivecurrentsonthecon-ductorsbondedtotheTMGBandTGBwithaclamponammeteratthebusbar.Youshouldhavelessthan1ampwithACcurrentsandlessthan.5ampswithDCcurrents.

Whenassemblingtheracks,verifythatyouhaveelectricalcontinuitybetweenallstructurematerials.Somemanufacturersprovidepaintpiercingwasherswiththeirrackssothatthepowdercoatedpartsarebondedtogetherwhenassembled.Ifpaintpiercingwashersarenotprovided,grindanypaintoffthatmaypreventcontinuitywhenassemblingtheracks.Anti-oxidantsshouldalwaysbeappliedtomat-ingsurfaces.

DifferentoptionsexistonhowtobondrackstotheTGB.Itdependsonthesizeandconfigurationoftheinstallation.YoucanruntheTelecommunicationsEquipmentBondingConductor(TEBC)directlyfromeachracktotheTGBforsmallerinstallations.Forlargerin-stallationsyoushouldrunacontinuousTEBCfromtheTGBdowneachrowofracksmakingabondfromtheTEBCtoeachrackutilizingacompressionstyleHTAP.

TheconductorsusedinbondingtherackstotheTGBshouldbeinsulatedwithagreenjackettoindicatethattheyarebeingusedforgroundingpurposes.InmostTRstheuseof#6AWGTEBCissufficientduetothelimitedlengthrequiredwithintheclosetspace.
