Dry hydrotherapy is a combination of traditional "wet"

hydrotherapy and massage. Traditional "wet"

hydrotherapy involves the soothing combination of

heat and water pressure in the form of whirlpool

treatments to naturally and effectively increase the

body's healing process. For decades, whirlpool treat-

ments have proven therapeutic for relaxing tight and

sore muscles, improving circulation, assisting in the

recovery of painful or overtired muscles, reducing

stress, increasing flexibility, relieving joint stiffness,

and more.

Massage is another form of treatment that has

gained credence in the medical world as an effective

drugless therapy. Massage therapy produces similar

results to whirlpool treatments and ministers to

numerous conditions. Overall, therapeutic massage

enhances medical treatment and helps people feel

less anxious and stressed, relaxed yet more alert.

Until recently, these treatments were used individual-

ly. Now, AquaMED has incorporated medical and

computer technology into a system that combines

hydrotherapy, massage, and whirlpool and heat ther-

apy into one, easy-to-use modality. The combined

benefits of AquaMED sessions create a synergy

effect whereby the overall results exceed those pro-

duced by each of these therapies separately.

What is AquaMED®

Dry Hydrotherapy?

Aaahhh...The AquaMED®

experience

AquaMED is a completely self-contained hydrother-

apy table that allows the patient to remain dry and

fully dressed while receiving a controllable, heated,

water-jet massage treatment. Users are often

relieved to learn that there is no need to disrobe and

that they will not be left in the hands of a stranger.

Further, they do not experience “pruning” from

remaining in water for long periods of time or have to

worry about exposure to bacteria that can gather in

whirlpools. While everyone’s experience may be dif-

ferent, everyone shares the same opinion after-

ward... they feel “fantastic.”

How Can AquaMED®

Dry Hydrotherapy Help Me?

Whether you are suffering from pain or feeling

stressed, AquaMED dry hydrotherapy provides relief.

A simple 15- to 20- minute session can be as beneficial

as a one-hour massage in increasing circulation,

reducing pain, and relieving stress. Plus, the wide

range of pressure available with AquaMED ensures

users get much more than just a “surface” massage.

AquaMED dry hydrotherapy sessions affect all sys-

tems of the body. Excellent results have been reported

by healthcare professionals in relieving pain associat-

ed with fibromyalgia, arthritis, headaches, insomnia,

stress, TMJ, chronic pain, muscle spasms, and sports-

related sprains and strains.

How Will I Feel After a Session?

In a word – great! AquaMED dry hydrotherapy ses-

sions can have either a sedative or stimulatory effect

depending on the type and length of treatment given.

Longer sessions tend to have a more sedative effect

while shorter sessions are generally more stimulating.
