Do your end of tenancy cleaning afteryou’ve moved out, so you don’t have towork around your belongings. Considerusing natural products (such as vinegar)as they don’t leave behind unpleasantchemical odours.

02:Work from the top down. Start by de-cobwebbing the ceiling and uppercorners in all rooms. Dust the blades ofoverhead fans.

3. Dust or vacuum window coverings (draperies,blinds, curtains). Consider laundering curtains andhaving drapes professionally cleaned.4. Thoroughly clean and degrease kitchenappliances: oven, stovetop (including stove hood),refrigerator (including freezer), microwave anddishwasher.5. Wipe down all kitchen countertops, backsplashes, cupboard doors, etc.6. Check kitchen walls for grease splatters andother food stains.7. Empty all kitchen cupboards and drawers. Givethem a quick wipe with a sponge.8. Scour all bathrooms: tubs, showers, sinks andtoilets. Don’t neglect the tiles and fixtures.9. Wipe down bathroom countertops and cupboarddoors, as well as inside cupboards and drawers.10. Empty all bedroom closets and other closets. Fora furnished place, check inside drawers and underbedroom furniture, and remove any debris. Wipeshelves, drawers and furniture surfaces.

Do the same in other areas: dining room,living room, home office, etc. Emptydrawers and closets; wipe shelves,drawers and furniture surfaces.

12:Vacuum thoroughly. For best cleaningresults, consider renting a steam cleaneror having carpets professionally cleaned.

13. Mop until a damp towel wiped on the floor comesup clean.14. By now you should be in slippers or socks toavoid re-soiling floors. After dumping mop water inthe toilet, flush an extra time to eliminate dirtywater.15. Wipe all baseboards.16. For the final part of your cleaning, wipe alldoors, doorframes, doorknobs, drawer pulls, closethandles, etc.17. Clean mirrors, windows and other shinysurfaces. Make sure there are no streaks.18. Do a final inspection. Use your nose and eyes:sniff the air for unpleasant odors, and look underand behind things. As you walk through each room,leave open all room doors, cupboards and closets.19. Discard rubbish or debris. Make sure you’re notleaving behind anything, because you might becharged for its disposal.20. Smile as you think about getting back yourdeposit!
