International Meeting

Desde Diciembre del 2009, la Agrupación de Narrativa Gráfica eIlustración de Chile, junto a PROCHILE, ha estado desarrollando elproyecto “Internacionalización de la narrativa gráfica e Ilustraciónchilena” que consta de un estudio objetivo de la situación de lanarrativa gráfica en Chile comparada consigo misma y el extranjero.Durante mayo se realizaron los primeros talleres como parte de esteestudio (http://www.ngi.cl/es/noticias-nacionales/talleres-ngi-chile/),quedando 2 actividades importantes: el Encuentro con editoresinternacionales y la entrega del estudio final a principios de diciembre,cuando la agrupación cumpla su primer año de vida.

Este 6 de Noviembre se realizará el Encuentro Internacional NGICHILE, con la asistencia de 3 editores de novela gráfica. DanielDivinsky de Ediciones La Flor (Argentina), Justin Eisinger de IDWPublishing (EE.UU.) y Thomas Bernard de Les Requins Marteaux(Francia), compartirán sus respectivas experiencias con 200 asistentesal Aula Magna de la Universidad Santo Tomás en Santiago de Chile.

Since December, 2009, NGI (Chilean Graphic Narrative and IllustrationAssociation), together with ProChile, has been developing its projectnamed ‘ Internationalisation of Chilean Graphic Narrative andIllustration’, which consist in carrying out an objective study aboutthe current situation of Graphic Narrative in Chile and its levelcompared with Comic Foreign markets.As a part of the study mentioned before, NGI has already carried aseries of workshops in May and now it’s the turn of its two finalactivities: a meeting with International Publishers and the finalpresentation of this study at the beginning of December, when NGIwill celebrates its first anniversary.

The International Meeting of NGI Chile will carried out on thisNovember, 6th, and have the participation of three Graphic NovelPublishers. Daniel Divinsky of De La Flor Publishing (Argentine),Justin Eisinger of IDW Publishing (USA) and Thomas Bernard of LesRequins Marteaux (France) will share their experiences with anaudience of around 200 people at the Santo Tomás University’sAssembly Hall in Santiago, Chile.

Fundada en 1966 y con sus primeros títulos aparecidos en 1967,Ediciones de la Flor es una de las pocas editoriales argentinas quesubsiste como independiente, es decir, sin haber sido absorbidapor ningún grupo.

Su catálogo de más de 600 títulos tiene varios centros, entre loscuales los más significativos son el humor gráfico y escrito (conautores paradigmáticos como Quino, Fontanarrosa, Caloi y Rep,entre los dibujantes argentinos), la narrativa (Rodolfo Walsh, JohnBerger, Luis Rafael S·nchez, entre muchos), el ensayo filosófico ypolítico, las biografías y diarios, los libros testimoniales, el teatroargentino y latinoamericano y los libros infantiles agrupados en trescolecciones (con autores como Ionesco, Silvina Ocampo, Ray Bradbury,Ariel Dorfman y Umberto Eco).

Publica un promedio de 30 novedades por año, que se suman a lasnumerosas reediciones que en el caso de títulos como Mafalda,suman ya millones de ejemplares de cada uno de sus tomos.

De la Flor Publishing was created in 1966 and launched its firstserial of books in 1967. This company is one of the few Argentinepublishers that remains independent, without been taken over byother companies.

Les Requins Marteaux

Con sede en la comuna de Albi (Sur de Francia), Les Requins Marteauxdesarrolla durante casi dos décadas una estructura atípica en elmedio del cómic. Esta organización es tanto editorial, productorade cine, diseñadora de exposiciones y organizadora de festivales.Su enfoque asume un universo en expansión en diferentes mediosde comunicación a menudo irreverente y sin concesiones.

Fundada en 1991 por William Guersant, Marc y Bernard PichelinKhatou, este colectivo de geometría variable - ahora integrado pordiseñadores, escritores, artistas gráficos, actores, músicos, cineastasartistas e ingenieros - pronto se asoció con Pierre Druilhe y Moolinex. Juntos crearon y dieron vida al periódico "Ferraile", que experimentósu primera vida en kioscos entre 1996 y 2001.

En 2003, Felder y Winshluss Cizo se hacen cargo de la direccióneditorial del título que se convierte en "Ferraille Illustré" y da labienvenida a la crema de la escena gráfica contemporánea.

The company was founded in 1991 by William Guersant, Marc andBernard Pichelin Khatou, a group of changeable geometry thatnowadays it is also formed by designers, writters, graphic artists,actors, musicians, movie makers, artists and engineers. Soon afterits creation, Les Requins Marteaux became partners with PierreDruilhe and Moolinex and launched the Fériale newspaper that wasinitially distributed in newsstands between 1996 to 2001.

In 2003, Felder and Winshluss Cizo became Editor-in-Chief of theFériale, which was renamed as “Ferraille Illustré" and startedincorporating the best elements of Contemporary Graphic Art.
