Manufacturing Prosess & Chemical Reaction & Mass Balance

NORMAL BUTYL BROMIDE

• MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

In reaction vessel take Normal Butanol+Sulfur+Water. Stir it. Than start addition of Liquid Bromine slowly. After complete addition of Liq. Bromine reflux it for 4½ hour then distill the product on next day. Normal Butyl Bromide and Residue transfer to reactor Regenerated Spent Sulphuric Acid. Takes in HDPE drums and packed it.

• CHEMICAL REACTION:

C4H9OH + S + H2O + Br2 C4H9Br + Dil. H2SO4 + H2O

In reaction vessel take, water & add soda ash & cool it to 20°C. Then start addition of Di methyl Hydentoin and dissolve it. Then add bromine slowly then pass chlorine till the reaction complete, then centrifuge it. Wash with water and dry it.
