LENO IN
For the recessed models, the mounting channel is bolted directly onto the ceiling substructure without having to make any ceiling cutouts. After the gypsum board ceiling has been mounted and sealed, the external converter can be inserted directly into the ceiling. The luminaire insert can be mounted without any tools using magnets. The frameless recessed luminaire features fl uted edges in order to enable the fi lling compound to bond better.

120°Depending on the desired area of application, LENO is available in various designs and LED output classes (e and e²). The cover is off ered in a high-performance opal version for uniform illumination or a microprismatic version (only available with e LED) for glare-free work light. In or-der to facilitate fl exible confi guration and optimal combina-tions, the luminaires are available in four diff erent lengths.

The white refl ector foil provides 96 % refl ectivity.
The high-performance opal cover ensures a signifi cantly higher degree of transmission compared with standard opal covers, pro-viding a 15 % increase in luminous effi cacy. Alternatively, LENO is also available in a microprismatic version, which achieves a Unifi ed Glare Rating (UGR) < 19.
REFLECTOR
HPO COVER
By using highly effi cient LEDs with a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) > 80 and colour tempera-tures in either 3000 K or 4000 K, a luminous effi cacy of up to 129 lm/W is achieved.
LED
The recessed luminaire features an external converter that is inserted directly into the ceiling. For the surface-mounted and sus-pended luminaires, the converter is integrated into the top of the lamp in a central position.

The light guiding prism (LGP) body is the heart of LENO. It receives the laterally coupled light and directs it downward through a laser-cut structure.
The luminaire insert consists of a plastic carrier profi le with an aluminium cover. Thanks to its fl at lamp enclosure with a height of just 11 mm, LENO IN FRAME is perfect for recessed ceiling installation.

D Das Vitosha Gebirge erhebt sich im Süden Sofias. mit einigen Gipfeln jenseits der 2.000 meter-marke bestimmt es die gesamte Stadt-Silhouette der bulgarischen Hauptstadt. Seine Karstquellen gelten als Naturwunder.
Kein Wunder ist es daher, dass das Wohngebiet an seinen ausläufern zu den besten der metropole zählt. auch die eigentümer eines weitläufigen Grund-stückes mit zwei alten eichen zog es wie viele andere wohlhabende Bulgaren hierher, wo man, die Großstadt in Wurfnähe, die beeindruckende Natur haut-nah genießen kann.
Die beiden Bäume, die nicht nur natürlichen Schutz gegen die Sommerhitze bieten, indem sie ein eigenes mikroklima schaffen, sondern auch die gesamte Umgebung prägen, sollten nach dem Willen der Bauherren erhalten und in das Projekt miteinbezogen werden. Den architekten war schnell klar, dass das nur gelingen kann, wenn man sie ins Zentrum des entwurfes rückt und den Raum gleichsam um sie herum gestaltet. einer der Bäume übernimmt dabei letztlich sogar eine räumlich funktionale Rolle: er wächst mitten aus der Terrasse, was die fassade wie um ihn herum gefaltetes Papier wirken lässt.
im u-förmig angelegten erdgeschoß, das sich voll verglast Richtung Garten öffnet, befinden sich Küche, ess- und Wohnzimmer. Weil die langen Glas-wände als Schiebetüren konzipiert wurden, lässt sich der Wohnbereich in der warmen Jahreszeit schnell und unkompliziert in eine überdachte Terrasse umfunktionieren. im oberen Stück befinden sich zwei kleinere und ein größe-res Schlafzimmer sowie ein Büro. Durch den aus der Terrasse wachsenden Baum entsteht im gesamten obergeschoß der eindruck, auf Höhe der Baum-kronen durch einen Wald zu spazieren.
Die gesamte Beleuchtung wurde diskret gehalten. lange, schmale lichtbän-der und vereinzelte Spots fügen sich mit maximalem Understatement in das zurückhaltende interieur des Hauses ein.

it is no wonder, then, that the residential area amongst its foothills is one of best in the metropolis. along with many other wealthy Bulgarians, the owners of a large property with two ancient oak trees were attracted to this place, in which the beauty of nature can be enjoyed close up whilst the city is just a stone’s throw away.
The owners wanted to conserve the two trees, which not only offer natural pro-tection against the summer heat by creating their own micro-climate, but also shape the surroundings as a whole, and to incorporate them into the project. The architects quickly realised that this would only be successfully achieved if the trees became the focus of the design and the space was, as it were, ar-ranged around them. in the process one of the trees has even taken on a spa-tially functional role - it grows in the middle of the terrace, making the façade seem like paper folded around it.
on the u-shaped ground floor, which is fully glazed and opens onto the garden, there is a kitchen, dining room and living room. Because the long glass walls are designed as sliding doors, the living area can quickly and easily be con-verted into a covered terrace during the warmer months. one larger and two smaller bedrooms and an office are situated on the top floor. Because of the tree that grows out of the terrace, the impression created throughout this floor is one of walking through a forest amongst the treetops.
all of the lighting was kept discreet. long, narrow bands of light and scattered spots are integrated with maximum understatement in the restrained interior of the house.

In-novation verströmt Boxpark allerdings nicht nur durch seinen äußeren anschein, sondern auch in seinem Inneren. Das wohl populärste Highlight ist die aufsehenerregende nikeFuel Station der globalen Sportswear-marke nike, die als dynamischer, futu-ristischer ort der Bewegung inszeniert und mit spektakulären visuellen Effekten ausgestattet wurde. E with Boxpark, located in the trendy london Shoreditch dis-trict, a special kind of shopping revolution has taken root: the first pop-up shopping mall in the world, built from 61 old shipping containers painted in matte black. Boxpark doesn’t just radiate innovation in its external appearance, it’s also innovative on the inside. Probably the most popular highlight is the sensational nikeFuel Station of the global sportswear brand nike: staged as a dynamic, futuristic place of movement, it is outfitted with spectacular visual effects. Sensors pick up on visitors’ every movement and reflect them as abstract digital avatars onto the expansive video screens that are equipped with red and green lEDs. The goal of the innovative shop design is to offer visitors a unique brand and product experience that blends the commu-nication possibilities of the digital world and the real world in a fascinating manner.
D Sind Keramikfliesen tatsächlich nur flächig einsetzbare, zweidimensionale elemente? oder lässt sich auch mit handelsüblichen fliesen ein dreidimensionaler und geradezu psychedelisch wirkender Raumeffekt erzielen, der die Wahrnehmung des Betrachters auf verblüffende Weise auf die Probe stellt? Diese frage stellte sich die britische Designerin lily Jencks gemeinsam mit dem Pariser architekten Nathanael Dorent bei der Gestaltung eines Pop-up-Showrooms für den britischen Premium-Keramik-vertrieb capitol Designer Studio im londoner Stadtteil Primrose Hill, der mit vergleichsweise einfachen mitteln, aber einem umso anspruchsvolleren visuellen Konzept als aufsehenerregende begehbare Raumskulptur designt wurde. Unter Verwendung von nur vier farbtönen aus der Bodenfliesen-Kollektion des italienischen Herstellers marazzi entwarfen Jencks und Dorent unter dem bezeichnenden Konzept-titel Pulsate ein aufwändiges Gefüge von dynamisch pulsierenden fischgrät-Strukturen, die wie ein geo-metrischer, elektrisierender Strudel eine geradezu unwiderstehliche Sogwirkung auf den Betrachter aus-üben und ihn förmlich in den Raum hineinsaugen. ein durchaus erwünschter effekt, schließlich wurde der Pop-up-Store vor allem mit der absicht konzipiert, bereits in seiner außenwirkung beim Blick durch die verglaste Straßenfront für maximale aufmerksamkeit zu sorgen und Besuchern die nahezu unendlichen möglichkeiten moderner fliesensysteme anschaulich vor augen zu führen.
E Who says porcelain tiles can only be used as two-dimensional elements? Shouldn’t it be possible to use standard store-bought tiles to create a three dimensional and even psychedelic kind of room effect that can test the viewer’s powers of perception in an amazing way? This was the question the British de-signer lily Jencks and the Parisian architect Nathanael Dorent asked themselves when they created the pop-up show room for the British premium tile distribution company capitol Designer Studio in london’s Primrose Hill district. The stunning walk-in room installation was designed with comparatively simple means, but the visual concept was all the more sophisticated. Using only four colour tones from the floor tile collection of the italian manufacturer marazzi, Jencks and Dorent created an elaborate and dynamic arrangement of pulsating herringbone structures and gave it the indicative conceptual title Pulsate. like a geometric, electrifying maelstrom, the installation has a downright irresistible pull on the viewer, pulling you right into the room. and this effect was very much intended. The pop-up store was designed with the aim of drawing as much attention as possible, even from the street outside. as you peer in through the glass storefront you are met with a vivid demonstration of the almost endless possibilities offered by modern tile systems.
D Noch vor wenigen Jahren wäre ein Storedesign wie jenes, welches das in Rom und Shanghai be-heimatete Designstudio 3GaTTi für das fashionlabel SND in der chinesischen 30-millionen-einwohner-metropole chongqing konzipierte, technisch kaum realisierbar gewesen. Zumindest nicht innerhalb einer akzeptablen Zeitspanne, denn um die mehr als 10.000 geometrisch gekurvten, an eine futuristische Tropfsteinhöhle erinnernden einzelelemente der Deckenstruktur mit konventionellen mitteln oder gar von Hand zu fertigen, wären vermutlich mehrere Jahre vonnöten gewesen. Die nahezu schwerelos über den exklusiven fashionkollektionen des Stores schwebende Deckenlandschaft gehorcht in ihrer formgebung den strengen und äußerst komplexen Gesetzen der Physik: Die form und anordnung der unzähligen cNc-gefrästen einzelelemente folgte einer computersimulation der unter Gravitationseinfluss über Jahr-millionen entstehenden Höhlendecken in Kalksteinhöhlen. auch das material der Deckenkonstruktion folgt einem konsequent rationalen Konzept. Das hauchdünne, semitransparent schimmernde fiberglas wurde vor allem zur erfüllung der Brandschutzvorschriften wegen seiner ausgezeichneten feuerhem-menden eigenschaften gewählt und verleiht als spektakulärer optischer Nebeneffekt dem Raum mit seinen teils durchscheinenden, teils reflektierenden oberflächen zusätzlichen Zauber.
E a few years ago a store design like the one conceived by Rome and Shanghai based design studio 3Gatti for the fashion label SND in the chinese metropolis of chongqing, with its population of 30 mil-lion, would barely have been technically feasible. Not within a reasonable time period, at any rate, be-cause producing the more than 10,000 geometrically curved individual elements of the ceiling structure, which are reminiscent of a futuristic cave, by conventional means or even by hand would probably have taken several years. The design of the ceiling landscape, which floats almost weightlessly above the store’s exclusive fashion collections follows the strict and extremely complex laws of physics: The form and layout of the numerous cNc-machined individual elements were based on a computer simulation of cave ceilings in limestone caves, which were formed under the influence of gravity over millions of years. The material for the ceiling structure also follows a strictly rational approach. The wafer-thin, semitrans-parent shimmering fibreglass was primarily chosen to meet fire protection regulations because of its ex-cellent fire retardant properties and, as a spectacular visual side-effect, adds a touch of magic to the space with its partly translucent and partly reflective surfaces.
