The new model ensures that no matter which Employment Ontario office an individual walks into, they will get the help they need

Seven Service Providers offer the same full suite of employment services and training programs in Hamilton

Offers a range of resources, supports and service components

Services are customized to meet specific client needs

The one-stop service is convenient for clients Our priority is to offer high quality services that

are flexible and responsive to both job seekers and employers

Client Service Planning & Coordination

CSPC is the initial point of contact for individuals seeking Employment Services

Client meets with SP to determine the type of services required, ASSISTED or UNASSISTED

There is no eligibility requirement for Client

Assisted Services Targeted to people who are unemployed (working

less than 20 hr week), and out of school when they enter the Employment Service and are legally entitled to work in Canada

Service Provider meets with the client to assess suitability for Assisted Services

Exceptions can be made for the under-employed if warranted by the client suitability assessment, the labour market environment and the ES program objectives

Job Search

Job Search provides structured and individualized support for clients that have:

no career goals unrealistic job expectations poor self marketing skills Stability / personal issues been unsuccessful with their independent job

search and other factors affecting employability

Job Matching, Placement and Incentives Employers may receive financial incentives to provide

on-the-job training, apprenticeship training, job test placement and work experience opportunities

SP matches clients’ skill sets to job opportunities

Clients may receive training supports to address financial barriers to participation in the Employment Service

Job/Training Retention Job Coaching or Mentoring to support successful training

completion

Resource and InformationR&I is a labour market service which is open to the public. This is considered an “unassisted” service. Staff guidance is available.

Individuals can obtain information about:

Careers, occupations and labour market resources Education, training and employment opportunities Other EO programs and services, other community programs,

literacy services and other resources that support employability Career planning and job search strategies Access to computers, internet, fax machines, photocopying, phone Various job search workshops / info sessions are offered at each SP

Second Career, OSEB and JCP

All 7 Service Providers are responsible for determining suitability and eligibility for: Second Career Ontario Self-Employment Benefit Job Creation Partnership

Summer Jobs Service

Currently delivered by Mohawk College and Employment Hamilton

Provides a $2 /hour subsidy for employers hiring eligible youth who are 15-30 years of age and returning to school in the fall

No decisions have been made regarding Summer Jobs Service for 2011

Each Service Provider has individual intake schedules and processes

Please see the individual SP info sheets Job Seekers can use any ONE of the Service

Providers for Assisted Services. It is the client’s choice

R & I participants are welcome at any Service Provider as it is open to the public
