Training is also useful when rolling out new policies or procedures as we can train to your employment handbook.

Remember… training will give your organisation possible defences in employment tribunal claims.

Who will benefi t from our training?

“Very knowledgeable course leaders.”

Why choose Boyes Turner?

We provide effective, relevant and commercially focused employment law and HR training courses. We believe what sets us apart from other legal training providers is our common sense and practical approach to training. We ensure our legal training courses – and our trainers - are accessible to employees, managers and HR at all levels of seniority and experience. We use fi rst-hand knowledge and examples to bring employee relations issues to life.

Our Employment and HR Training team consists of practising lawyers who have fi rst-hand experience advising organisations directly as well as representing employers at employment tribunals. We work daily with HR professionals and business managers in many sectors and for organisations of various sizes. Our soft skills training is delivered by HR specialists who are part of our NetworkHERO.

We know the problems you face and we know how to help you avoid them.

We understand that organisations have their own legal services providers or in-house lawyers. Boyes Turner’s employment and HR training is aimed to be complementary to that. We know it takes time to create, prepare and deliver a training session – our training eam can take on this responsibility.

3

Our training is always delivered by a qualifi ed lawyer or HR specialist. Our trainers are engaging, accessible and interactive. We welcome discussion, questions and feedback.

We deliver training in person at your premises. This means that we can work to your own timetable and avoid travelling time for managers. For businesses who operate in different locations, or who would like to provide an offsite venue for training, we can host in our own offi ces or at another location which is convenient for you. Where face-to-face training isn’t possible we can also provide e-learning services, such as webinars.

We use a variety of methods to deliver our training depending on what best suits the particular course and your requirements. Training can be provided in full day or half day courses depending on the nature of the course or the numbers of delegates. Training can also be delivered as workshops, mock employment tribunals or role play disciplinaries, for example.

We have a “can do” approach and try and instil the same in the people we train. We focus on the positives of employee and management engagement and give managers or HR the confi dence and tools necessary to deal with diffi cult employee situations.

We also run “lunch and learn” training sessions. These are focused sessions run over a lunch time where we pick on one particular theme, for example, “absence management” or “managing disciplinaries”. It is chance for managers and HR to gain a fl avour of the subject matter and legal risk areas before embarking on a longer day-long training session.

Right to work and document verifi cation checksWe look at the latest Home Offi ce compliance rules around document verifi cation checks and the right to work. “Learned a lot, information given was key to helping me understand the importance of document verifi cation.”

Business immigration training

Our Business Immigration Team runs specifi c courses which look at the high risk area of document checks and verifi cation as well as business immigration issues more generally. A failure to comply with Home Offi ce rules could lead to signifi cant fi nes for an organisation as well as damage to reputation.

Webinars and e-learning

Our training does not have to be delivered face to face. Where organisations run multi-site operations or as a fi rst step to people training, you might want to consider webinars or e-learning. Our training team can draft bespoke webinars to suite your training needs. These can either be pre-recorded or broadcast “live” by us or scripted allowing for you to deliver or record.

At Boyes Turner, we understand that sometimes training is needed which focuses on “soft skills”. That is why we have developed a range of courses delivered by our network of HR consultants through Boyes Turner’s NetworkHERO. Let us fi nd the right HR consultant for your specifi c training needs.

Examples of the types of courses we offer include:

• Driving high performance

• Time management

• Communication skills and assertiveness

• Negotiation skills

Our HR consultant led sessions can be run either as full or half day courses or as part of a “lunch and learn” session. We can also “mix and match” a training programme which includes both a legal and a soft skills focus.

Our soft skills training courses start from £2,000 +VAT for a full day and £1,200 +VAT for a half day (see end for details).

14

Whilst all Boyes Turner’s employment and HR training courses are tailored and delivered to suit all levels of management, regardless of the level of pre-existing HR knowledge, we can also go further than this.

We understand that your organisation may have its own requirements when it comes to training and that you may need a course or a topic covered to suit your particular business sector or specifi c business or training need. Our employment and HR training team can work with you to provide a truly bespoke course to fi t within a current training programme you are running or looking to introduce, or be designed to suit a specifi c set of circumstances.

One size does not always have to fi t all.

Our bespoke training courses start from £5,000 +VAT for a full day’s course. See further details below.
