JANUARY 2020 Employee of the Month This month, we chose to honor Linda Wren from the nursing department as employee of the month. Linda is an amazing worker and she shines brightly in many different ways in the community. Whether it’s fixing something that broke, passing out medication, decorating, serving food, doing office work, or one of the many other things she does, she is a “jack of all trades.” Along with Linda’s knowledge and willingness to help in many areas, she also has a wonderful personality and is a faithful employee. We are so grateful to have you working with us, Linda. Keep up the awesome work! Our Lake Forest Family Begin a Journaling Journey If you’re looking to begin a fun activity for the new year, consider keeping a journal. See if one of these styles is “write” for you. Daily journal: This is the classic “Dear Diary” style of journaling, in which you record the day’s events, your observations and how you’re feeling. Gratitude journal: Take some time each day to write down a few things you are thankful for in a gratitude journal. This daily habit has been shown to increase happiness, and rereading your journal entries can provide comfort and perspective. One-line-a-day journal: Quick and easy, these journals typically cover a five-year period. You simply record one thought every day, and the pages are formatted so that you can look back at what happened on the same date in previous years. Dream journal: Keep a dream journal at your bedside, and write down the details of your dreams when you wake up. This habit can help you train your brain to remember your dreams more often. You may also gain insight by studying your dream patterns and symbols. Keepsake journal: Geared toward parents and grandparents, keepsake journals contain questions and prompts that encourage you to record your memories and life experiences for loved ones. Our Fish Tank Curator We are so thankful for John, our very own Lake Forest fish tank curator. John volunteers to pick out the new fish for our tank — he makes sure they are getting acclimated, he keeps a watch over the fish, and helps out with the fish tank in other ways as well. John has a lot of knowledge about aquariums, and we are so thankful that he is blessing our community in such a way. Keep up the great work, John! Dear Lake Forest Friends, Family, and Residents Welcome to the year 2020! It is my great joy to spend another year with you, and I look forward to all the blessings that will come in it. Please know that I have an open-door policy, so if you need me, I will be here for you. I hope to see you out and about this month, participating in our events. Have a great new year! Employee of the MonthThis month, we chose to honor Linda Wren from the nursing department as employee of the month. Linda is an amazing worker and she shines brightly in many different ways in the community. Begin a Journaling JourneyIf you’re looking to begin a fun activity for the new year, consider keeping a journal.

Our Fish Tank CuratorWe are so thankful for John, our very own Lake Forest fish tank curator.
