ldquoCIBC Mellonrsquos Ambassador Program has allowed our Scout group to participate in summer camps on a yearly basis I volunteer with a group in a neighbourhood where families do not always have the funds readily available to send their children to camp Support from CIBC Mellon allowed us to subsidize youth registration fees and purchase equipment necessary for members of our Scout group to enjoy a memorable camping experience It means a lot to me as an employee that the organization would provide funds to an organization I volunteer my personal time working with throughout the yearrdquo

Shooting hoops to provide opportunities for underprivileged youth to play sports in Toronto CIBC Mellon employees take to the courts annually to compete against the wolves of Bay Street in the Bay Street Hoops basketball tournament

CIBC Mellonrsquos ldquoHeart Throbsrdquo Big Bike team cycled through Torontorsquos financial district while our ldquoStrokebustersrdquo powered through London Since 2002 our employees have been supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario through Big Bike Fundraising

Skills for Your Success These workshops provide CIBC Mellon employees with an opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge Together with their people manager employees can identify the skills they need to improve most choose a workshop and start building those skills one workshop at a time

Tuition Assistance Through our Tuition Assistance Program employees can further their careers and build their capabilities with an annual grant of up to $2500 for external training

Mentorship Program Employees have the opportunity to connect with senior leaders within the company helping to expand their skills and network

Job Shadow Program Employees are able to obtain a realistic job preview into areas where they may have a career interest or gain a better understanding of various roles within CIBC Mellon which will help them grow and develop in their current role

United Way Sponsored Employee Program Each year we second an employee with full pay to United Way for a 15-week placement This program gives employees a valuable chance to learn new skills while making a difference for our community

Employee General Meeting CIBC Mellon hosts an annual company-wide meeting to reflect on the successes and outline a strategic plan for the following fiscal year mdash covering business strategy as well as the broader context Our most recent meeting featured work-life expert Nora Spinks challenging employees to reflect on and equip themselves for ldquoThe Future of Workrdquo

2016 WIN activities included volunteering charity networking activities and fundraisers Several ldquocoffee and conversationrdquo events centered on a range of topics from leadership to the importance of networking and creating a positive first impression
