PAYROLL DEDUCTIONTo enroll in monthly payroll deduction, visit www.misdef.org to fill out the online form. YOU MUST ENROLL BY: September 30, 2014, to fullfill a 10 month commitment and receive package perks.*Minimum monthly payroll deduction is $3/month. Payroll deductions will run from October to July (10 pay periods) each year. Employee will remain enrolled in payroll deduction unless you choose to cancel. You may cancel or change your payroll deduction amount any time throughout the year at www.misdef.org.

432 Innovative Teaching Grants

Innovative Teaching Grants (ITG) are awarded twice per school year, and designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative instruc-tional approaches to the accomplishment of program objectives. Over $320,000 have been awarded since 2004.

Dolores McClatchey Teaching ScholarshipIn honor of retired MISD educator Dolores McClatchey, five $500 scholarships are awarded each year to MISD teachers pursuing a Masters Degree. The scholarship began in 1997, and MEF began underwriting in 2010.

MEF Paraprofessional ScholarshipThis scholarship was started with the assistance of United Way of West Ellis County. MEF awards five $500 scholarships each year to MISD paraprofession-als pursuing their teaching certificates.

Showcase of Stars BanquetMEF hosts an annual banquet honoring the top 5% of the MHS graduating class. The honored seniors choose an educator that has most touched their life as a student to be honored alongside them.

H.A.T.S. Off to MISD In coordination with Teacher Appreciation Week each year, this program provides a tax-deductible avenue to honor and thank a teacher, a staff member, or admin-istrator for all of their hard work and enthusiasm for education.

New Teacher Welcome BreakfastAll new teachers are welcomed to the District by MEF with a goody bag of items that includes a small gift, coupons and discounts to local businesses, and a sponsor provided breakfast.
