The Holme, previously known as Holme Hall is lo-cated within the rural parish of Cliviger in Lanca-shire. Cliviger lies on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire, counties well known for being associated with the textile trade. The area is abundant in pic-turesque landscapes and is influenced by an strong agricultural background. The Holme is a 17th centu-ry Grade II listed manor house, once home to many generations of the Whitaker Family, an important , rich, status symbol within the Cliviger Valley. The building unfortunately currently stands as a ruin due
to fire damage and exposure to the harsh environment.
The Holme is to become a facility for the reprival of the wool trade within Lancashire. The proposal will see the wool of the native Lancashire Lonk sheep be processed, researched and manufactured to produce highly bespoke and beautiful products. The facility will offer the opportunity for the original tradi-tional methods of wool processing to be reinstated to emphasise the value of handmade craftmanship, as well as introducing current and future technology

“Who needs an office when I can wear my wheel farthingale press and take my work anywhere I desire”
I heard the woman next to me exclaim. She seemed to be the kind of woman who was always in the know, knew all the latest gossip, an aspiring feministic woman, perhaps a journalist....
“I was tired of being stuck inside doing work, uninspired and unproductive, looking out the window one day, I thought to myself, why can’t there be a way I can be outdoors, submerged in the open environment, taking in the fresh air, sunlight and nature, then I would have a burst of creativity and motivation everyday, a more healthy way of working.
This Wheel Farthingale Press seemed to be a piece of spatial and sculptural architecture based on historic costume, aesthetically pleasing and decorative in appearance, as well as functional in its wear.

“There’s heating, electricity, lighting, innovative computing.even my own personal space...the possibilities are endless, it contains everything I need to do my work whenever and wherever”
In awe I watched her play around with the transformable components of the garment, a multiple of functions unravelling before my eyes.
“I can immerse myself in the open environment and always have a change of landscape, whilst my wheel farthingale press changes constantly with my needs”
I thought to myself...that is the workplace of tomorrow...

The design saw the remodelling of a watermill located on the site of the Hepworth, Wakefield to become a children's storytelling centre inspired
by the nursery rhymes originating from Wakefield.
