Emerging Farmers Support Portal (EFSP) Brief Report 1

3Agri SA 2019Disclaimer: We cannot take responsibility of accuracy of participants submissions

BACKGROUNDAgri SA is South Africa’s leading federation of agricultural organisations. Agri SA represents 28 000 commercial farmers through 9 provinces, 26 commodity organizations and 38 corporations in the agricultural value chain.

In 2018 Agri SA released a Transformation Report which was the first consolidated report on transformation within agriculture. The Agri SA membership spent R331 million on transformation in the 2016/17 financial year and reached an estimated 108 307 beneficiaries, which includes 55 000 farmers.

Agri SA launched the Emerging Farmers Support Portal (EFSP) to have a streamlined channel for communication to respond to the large number of queries from individuals seeking support. The report will be distributed to Agri SA’s Provincial, Commodity and Corporate members who are then free to review the list and to contact the relevant emerging farmers.

Emerging farmers are able to supply their contact details, commodity farmed, province and query through a standardised form on the Agri SA website. Therefore, any additional information on profiled farmers will have to be sourced by interested parties. We encourage interested parties to please contact Agri SA for more information on the emerging farmer entrants.

Please see the last page of the report to contact Agri SA.

The Emerging Farmers Support Portal (EFSP) is another avenue in which Agri SA and its members are contributing to the development of emerging farmers. This is a small step we are taking towards supporting transformation and driving agrarian reform that can make a significant difference in the lives of some emerging farmers.

Agri SA would like to thank all of its members and sponsors for their contribution and support.

If you are an emerging farmer and would like to share your details, please go to:
