Due to the cancellation of the 28th Annual Wisconsin Emergency MedicineResearch Forum, all abstracts that were accepted to our Forum have beenaccepted for poster presentations at SAEM Great Plains Regional Meetingand are being considered for oral presentations. The SAEM Great PlainsRegional Meeting will be taking place at MCW on September 18, 2020. Finaldecisions around oral presentations of abstracts will be decided in July after all

DEM Ranked #12 for 2019 NIH Research Funding
The 2019 Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research Rankings are out, andDEM is ranked #12 in national NIH research funding for Emergency Medicine.Our ranking reflects the dedication and efforts of the faculty and staff of DEMand the staff in the Emergency Department. A special congratulations to Dr.Manish Shah who continues to rank among the top 10 emergency medicineresearchers in the country. Way to go, team!

ACEP is now accepting abstract submissions for the Research Forum heldduring ACEP 2020 (October 26-29 in Dallas, Texas). This is a great opportunityto present your research at a national level! The deadline for submission is May21, 2020 at 4PM CST.

In February 2020, Dr. Pulia's article "5 Tips to ImproveAntibiotic Stewardship in Your Emergency Department", co-authored by Dr.Robert Redwood and Dr. Larissa May, was featured in ACEP Now! The articleexplains 5 tips that providers can use on their next shift to improve antibioticstewardship. By practicing the “5 D’s of antibiotic stewardship”—right diagnosis,right drug, right dose, right duration, right de-escalation—providers can reducethe prevalence of multidrug-resistant organisms in our hospitals andcommunities.
