Delivery Methods

We offer a variety of different training methods to support the training requirements for our client. There are many factors that determine the best delivery method. We develop the core curriculum to support the application and repurpose that content that allows flexibility in delivering the training.

Public Enrollment Classes

EMC Education Services offers training courses and programs delivered by instructors who not only have a number of years of relevant industry experience, but who are very attuned to delivery to the adult professional. Instructor-led training encompasses both presentation of theoretical/technological basics as well as a large number of practical demonstrations and hands-on student exercises. The instructor is always available to help students with problems or to provide ad hoc explanations to address a student’s particular interest. The typical student: instructor ratio for classes is 12:1.

EMC Education Services offers a global network of state-of-the-art training facilities and fully equipped labs. Classes are taught by EMC Education Services instructors using courseware created by experienced curriculum development teams. The classes are a lecture style format and utilize hands-on labs to provide students the opportunity to master content. Each student has access to a live server. Our virtual classroom is comprised of two components - an online session where the instructor delivers the lecture and interacts with the students, and an online lab. The course content delivered through this mechanism is identical to our Instructor-led offerings at EMC Education Services training centers. Our qualified instructors deliver the courses, use the same lab setups, and we send you the same books as in the classroom. Customers benefit by being able to attend a course from their home or office, eliminating the need to travel and saving costs.

Live-Online Classes with Hosted Labs

• $770 per day, per student.

Onsite Training

Organizations have unique challenges and specific goals that regular training courses may not address. For that reason, EMC Education Services offers onsite training designed to match your schedule, skill set, resources and budget. Tailored courses deliver targeted hands-on instruction and a solid working knowledge of the subject matter in the most rapid, cost-effective fashion possible.

With onsite training, courses can be scheduled on a date that is convenient for you, and because they can be scheduled at your location, you don't incur travel costs and students won't be away from home. An additional advantage is that the class is taught focused on your specific implementation. The instructor can vary the emphasis of topics depending on your staff's requirements. Students have opportunities to discuss the core curriculum within the context of how the client is using the application.

• Onsite Training Cost $5,200 per day (note: Kazeon courses are billed @ $6,000 per day, up to 12 students) $660 per day per student exceeding 12 students. (Max 18 students) Includes training environment for up to 12 students

Train the Trainer Program

Through the Train-the-Trainer program, EMC Education Services instructor’s help customers achieve their goal of successfully training your staff to deliver a variety of end user training courses, provide your company with an in-house expert, and cost effectively deliver training to your entire user population. Customers save time and money on development of end-user training materials by using the electronic version of the training materials as a starting point for their training requirements.

Web Based Training (WBT)

Large technology implementations create challenges in providing a cost effective as well as time efficient means to train users. Many times, users are globally dispersed and providing classroom training is prohibited. Leveraging Web Based training is a cost effective and time efficient means to provide quality training across and organization. An added benefit is students have the opportunity to for just in time training. They have the flexibility to take the course based on their needs and timeframe. They also have the opportunity to take the course as often as needed. Self-paced, web based training curriculum enables you to take training when you want it, where you want it.

Custom End User Training

Organizations purchase EMC software to solve critical business challenges such as corporate compliance, records management, content explosion or many other challenges. Once the software is customized to meet the business need, it is incumbent upon the organization to provide training on the application to the user


community. The ultimate success of meeting the business requirements depends on the skills and ability of all the end users to consistently and accurately interact with the system. EMC Education Services provides customized end user training material. Our instructional designers work directly with the business unit manager and the product development team to understand the end user interaction. We then develop customized end user training specific to a client’s environment. We leverage the existing end user training to minimize cost and significantly decrease the development cycle. The objective is to educate and empower the user community to meet the business requirements.

• Customized Classroom Material Materials such as training manuals, reference guides and “cheat sheets” can be developed. EMC Education Services provides clients with a details SOW for cost estimate

• Customized Web Based Training (WBT) We leverage our existing WBT training material and customize it by adding screen captures

and audio voice overs to ensure specific business processes are reflected in the new course. This is an extremely cost effective and time efficient way to deliver customized training.

EMC Education Services understands that strong end-user adoption is a critical success factor for any technology implementation. Providing a roadmap to success through customized training provides a framework for end-users to master the skills required to utilize the customized application. EMC Proven™ Professional Certification

The EMC Proven Professional Certification Program is a comprehensive education and certification program that develops and validates skills required to plan, deploy, manage, and leverage your content management infrastructure. Role-based certifications are available in following four tracks:

Product specific EMC SourceOne certifications are also available. Certifications require demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the relevant topics through proctored exams to meet industry and EMC standards of certification. Cost: $200 per certification exam. Lab Sandbox

Our Lab Sandbox provides a safe place to experiment. Pre-configured with all of the software you'll need, the lab image is identical to those used in our classroom environments. The IIG Technical Workshops includes instructor led presentation, hands-on projects and two days of access to a virtual lab environment so that new knowledge can be tested in a risk-free environment. The workshop concludes with a live Q&A session with the instructor during "office hours" to ensure student comprehension and success. The objective of the IIG Technical Workshops is to take developers, administrators, architects and end users beyond the core curriculum and the classroom. The workshop is structured to provide a learning opportunity for students to utilize knowledge they have acquired and apply in a real world scenario. The IIG Technical Workshop follows a 4-2-4 format:
