2011 NAIFA/NAHU Joint Conference Featured SpeakersStacy Allison has climbed the world’s most

famous mountain; now she’s helping individualsaround the globe scale their own monumentalchallenges. Allison is best known as the firstAmerican woman to summit Mt. Everest. Sheis also president of Stacy Allison GeneralContracting, a residential building company.

On her first attempt on Mt. Everest, trappedin a snow cave for five days, they had to turnback. She returned to Mt. Everest with the Northwest AmericanEverest Expedition and on Sept. 29, 1988, after 29 days, she reachedthe summit of the world’s highest mountain at 29,028 feet.

Dr. Ernie Goss is currently the MacAllisterChair in Regional Economics at CreightonUniversity. He received his Ph.D. in Economicsfrom the University of Tennessee in 1983 andis a former faculty research fellow at NASA’sMarshall Space Flight Center. He was a visitingscholar with the Congressional Budget Officefor 2003-04 and is a research fellow at the

Theodore Roosevelt Institute. Dr. Goss has published over 80research studies focusing on economic forecasting and on thestatistical analysis of business and economic data. Goss produces amonthly business conditions index for the nine-state Mid-Americanregion and the three-state Mountain region.

Kip Gregory is Principal of The GregoryGroup and author of “Winning Clients in aWired World.” He is one of the financial serviceindustry’s leading authorities on improvingindividual productivity and team effectiveness.Over the past decade, thousands of professionalshave benefited from his simple, straightforwardadvice on saving time and systemizing for successusing tools and resources they already own.

Before founding The Gregory Group in 1998, he spent 14 yearsin senior positions at GE Capital and other financial servicescompanies, developing and managing distribution businesses.

Tom Hegna, CLU, ChFC, CASL, isFirst Vice President for Retirement IncomeSecurity at New York Life. Hegna qualified formembership into the Million Dollar RoundTable (MDRT) in each of his first three yearsin business. He is a popular industry speaker,having spoken at the MDRT BoomertirementRoadshows, the National NAIFA Convention

and the Society of Financial Service Professionals National Forummeetings. In October 2009, he spoke main platform at the Top ofthe Table meeting for the Million Dollar Roundtable.

Dr. Ernie P. Goss

Robin Mueller, LUTCF resides in Franklin,Wisc., and has been in the financial servicesindustry since 1979. He has a Bachelor ofScience degree with an emphasis ininterpersonal communications. While incollege, he was a two-time All-Americangymnast, and was inducted into his university’sAthletic Wall of Fame. The MilwaukeeAssociation of Life Underwriters chose him asits 1996 Distinguished Service Award Recipient. Mueller travelsthe country as a keynote speaker and consultant, and has spoken atnumerous NAIFA, FPA and other industry/association meetings.He is a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association.

Carl Pelini just finished his third season onhis brother’s Nebraska coaching staff in 2010,serving as defensive coordinator and defensiveline coach. Pelini played a leading role in adramatic resurgence of the Husker defense. Pelini joined the NU staff after three seasonson Frank Solich’s coaching staff at OhioUniversity. Pelini previously served as theHuskers’ defensive graduate assistant in 2003,

when Bo Pelini was the defensive coordinator. Carl Pelini workedwith the defensive line, helping NU rank second nationally inscoring defense and takeaways.

When Ed Pittock founded the Society ofCertified Senior Advisors in 1997, he sensedhe was filling a sizeable need among America’sseniors and the myriad of professionals whoserve this fast-growing population. In just 11years, Society of Certified Senior Advisors hasbecome the world’s largest organization of itskind. More than 27,000 individuals haveenrolled in the exclusive CSA training. Pittock has published articlesin many senior magazines and professional journals. He is a memberof the National Council on Aging, the American Society on Aging,and the Gerontological Society of America.
