    God is the Lord, and He revealed Himselfto us. Blessed is he who comes in the name ofthe Lord. [SAAS]

    Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνοµα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

    Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and callupon His holy name.

    ἤ· Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ, ὅτι ἀγαθός,ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ.

    or: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; forHis mercy endures forever.

    You descended from on high, Ocompassionate One, and condescended tobe buried for three days, so that from thepassions You might set us free. Our life andresurrection, O Lord, glory be to You. [SD]

    Τί τὰ µύρα, συµπαθῶς τοῖς δάκρυσιν,ὦ Μαθήτριαι κιρνᾶτε; ὁ ἀστράπτων ἐντῷ τάφῳ Ἄγγελος, προσεφθέγγετο ταῖςΜυροφόροις· Ἴδετε ὑµεῖς τὸν τάφονκαὶ ᾔσθητε· ὁ Σωτὴρ γὰρ ἐξανέστη τοῦµνήµατος.

    "Why do you mingle the ointments withyour tears full of pity, O women disciples?"Thus the Angel who was shining in the tombcried to the myrrh-bearing women. "See foryourselves the empty tomb and understand,that the Savior has risen from the sepulcher."[SD]

    Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomblamenting. But the Angel appeared to themand uttered, "The time for lamentation hasended; weep no more. Go announce theResurrection to the Apostles." [SD]

    For behold, I was conceived intransgressions, and in sins my mother boreme.

    Behold, You love truth; You showedme the unknown and secret things of Yourwisdom.

    Do not cast me away from Your presence,and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

    Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit.

    O Lord, You shall open my lips, and mymouth will declare Your praise.

    For if You desired sacrifice, I would giveit; You will not be pleased with whole burntofferings.

    Θυσία τῷ Θεῷ πνεῦµα συντετριµµένον,καρδίαν συντετριµµένην καὶτεταπεινωµένην ὁ Θεὸς οὐκ ἐξουδενώσει.

    A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, abroken and humbled heart God will notdespise.

    Ἀγάθυνον, Κύριε, ἐν τῇ εὐδοκίᾳ σουτὴν Σιών, καὶ οἰκοδοµηθήτω τὰ τείχηἸερουσαλήµ.

    Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasureto Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem bebuilt.

    Then You will be pleased with a sacrificeof righteousness, with offerings and wholeburnt offerings.
