Thirteenth Sunday In Ordinary Time
BECOMING OURSELVES
"She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole truth." (Mark 5:22)
With the hemorrhaging woman's desire to be healed as well as her fear of doing what is necessary to bring that healing about. She knew that she would make Jesus ceremonially unclean by touching him; what finally empowered her to risk his possible rejection and reach out for what she needed? What was it that she saw in the eyes of this holy man that liberated her from her fear and eventually allowed her to reveal her deepest secrets?
We suspect it is the same thing that we see in the eyes of those who so completely accept us that in their presence we are able to forget our shortcomings and wounds. What a relief it is to stop trying to prove how good we are and to know that it is safe to just be.
Lord, help us recognize you in all who see us through the eyes of love.
KNIGHTS NEWS
Thank you Father Joe, Father Dan, and Father Jack for everything y o u h a v e d o n e f o r o u r parishioners. "May love and laughter light your days and warm your heart and home, may good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam, may peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures, may all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours." Good news! We have new Form 100s to be used when you sign up a new Knight. Please destroy the old forms on July 1, 2015 and get your new supply at our July 2nd Council meeting or by calling FS Mark at 734 279-2269. Our Holy Father's Intention: Immigrants and refugees - That immigrants and refugees may find welcome and respect in the countries to which they come. The Knights of Columbus offers Long-Term Care Insurance that enables members and their spouses to safeguard their assets and afford the care and assistance needed later in life. Our Annuity Program allows husbands and wives to provide for retirement and build an estate through tax deferred savings. For details please contact our agent, Paul Snabes, at 517 395-8270 or [email protected]. Please continue to pray, fast, and sacrifice for the protection of religious liberty so this great land will always be "one nation, under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

A Note from the Editor to Fr. Jack~
You said you’d have some final words to share in this weekend’s bulletin, but time got away from you and here I am with an empty column. I’m at a loss for words to say Goodbye, but Thank You for asking me to take this job seven years ago. Working at Light of Christ has nudged me to be more involved in our parish (no pressure from the boss!) and ultimately made me more keenly aware of God’s love for us and the gifts that I have to share, and for that I am grateful! Take care and God Bless you in your new journey. See you in DC next Spring! And because I can think of nothing inspirational to say, here’s an Irish Blessing for you that I’m sure you know by heart but comes from the heart:
IRISH BLESSING
May the road rise to meet you.May the wind be always at your back.May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again,May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
May you live as long as you want,And never want as long as you live.
Always remember to forgetThe things that made you sad.But never forget to rememberThe things that made you glad.Always remember to forgetThe friends that proved untrue. But never forget to rememberThose that have stuck by you.Always remember to forgetThe troubles that passed away. But never forget to rememberThe blessings that come each day.
May the saddest day of your future be no worseThan the happiest day of your past.
May the roof above us never fall in.And may the friends gathered below it never fall out.
May you have warm words on a cold evening,A full moon on a dark night,And the road downhill all the way to your door.
May you live to be a hundred years,With one extra year to repent!
May the Lord keep you in His handAnd never close His fist too tight.
May your neighbors respect you,Trouble neglect you,The angels protect you,And heaven accept you.
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.May the luck of the Irish enfold you.May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,May good luck pursue you each morning and night.
Walls for the wind,And a roof for the rain,And drinks beside the fire - Laughter to cheer youAnd those you love near you,And all that your heart may desire!
May God be with you and bless you,May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.May you know nothing but happinessFrom this day forward.
May God grant you many years to live,For sure He must be knowingThe earth has angels all too fewAnd heaven is overflowing.
May peace and plenty be the firstTo lift the latch to your door, And happiness be guided to your homeBy the candle of Christmas.
May you always have work for your hands to do. May your pockets hold always a coin or two. May the sun shine bright on your windowpane. May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
