Email archiving

• Email archiving is for downloading, keeping and protecting all sent and received email messages (including attachments)so they can be later accessible. Doing this moves your inboxes into a folder and out of your inbox, almost like putting files in to a cabinet rather then putting them all over the place. The benefits of doing this is it cleans up your email inbox and recovers lost or deleted emails. You use archiving when you want to back up your emails and it puts them in a safe place.

File sizes

• To resolve a situation where an email is to big you can copy & paste the text into the email instead of attaching it as a separate file, this would help because attaching a PowerPoint to an email takes up more space then just taking the information out of the PowerPoint and putting into the email instead, this could save over 50 kb by doing this. You could also compress the file, using a piece of software like WinZip, this makes the file smaller. Another way of resolving a situation with size is by sending files as a PDF file instead of word documents.
