A truly rare opportunity to purchase this 19th century B listed
disused grain mill located on the island of Shapinsay not far from
the ferry terminal and overlooking Elwick Bay and Balfour Castle.
Elwick Mill was built in 1893 and was once the largest water powered
grinding mill in Orkney.
The mill occupies a large site with a drive leading to a parking area,
a sheltered area with kilns and up to the mill with a workshop to the
side, a large garden to the rear and a static caravan.
The property requires renovation throughout.
Some of the working parts of the mill are still in tact and still work
including the water wheel.
There was previous planning in place for conversion however this
has since expired.
Split over three floors the rooms are spacious and offer potential
to convert to a dwelling or perhaps a gallery or self catering
accommodation with the appropriate consents from the local
council.
