Elpidohori Permaculture Design Course After the successful launch of the first ever PERMACULTURE CARAVAN , in the summer of 2014, Peter Cow is returning to Greece to lead the Elpidohori Permaculture Design Course The PDC will take place from 12 th to 23 rd of May, 2015 on location at Elpidohori (Hopeland) Course Info In Permaculture, Nature is our teacher. During this full, 12-day course we will connect with her and try to learn from her ways, covering all the standard PDC syllabus leading to the Permaculture Design Certificate ....and then some! We will learn about the core of Permaculture, its thinking, principles and design tools. We will learn to observe patterns and principles in our self, in society and in the wild and understand how to use them. We will be given tools and techniques for effective designing and decision-making – from house construction, to gardens, to community development. The course starts with an introduction to permaculture: its values, principles and tools. We then go into practical solutions for all areas of life: water systems, gardening and landscaping; lifestyle choices and self resilience; the built environment, community development; financial systems and designing in different climate zones. Towards the end, we carry out a group design project to explore and integrate the design processes more fully. This particular course will have a focus on community development and water harvesting/storing in the landscape, alongside the traditional wide ranging, life changing PDC curriculum, covering land design, eco building, social permaculture, food forests, soil improvement, working in different climate zones and much more. The course is delivered in a fun, enabling way with a mix of theory, practice, field work, role-play etc. guaranteed to appeal to different styles of learning. The course will be delivered in English, but at least one of the assistant teachers will be Greek, so they can help with terminology etc those who find it difficult to communicate in English. This is a course that requires no prior knowledge, no special skills or experience; it is available to everyone and it is due to change your life like it has done with thousands of people around the globe! A few words about Peter Cow

Peter took his PDC in 1998, and went on to co-found an eco community in Devon, UK, wherehe lived for 7 years. He has been teaching since2007, and has experience leading PDCs aroundEurope. His courses are certified by thePermaculture Association (Britain), with whomhe is also an active Diploma Tutor.He has wide design experience includingwoodland management, food forests, ecobuildings, community development, personalresilience and event design, in both cooltemperate and Mediterranean climates. He isdeeply involved in social permaculture, and wasco-facilitator with Looby Macnamara at the firstever People and Permaculture FacilitatorTraining course in 2013.

He is also a keen musician and traveler, bringingmusic, songs and depth to his courses.

Fees Food Accommodation

The price for the 12 days is €380. It includes food, camping, hot showers, andall on-site facilities.

Early-bird discount, until 12th March €300!

There is limited dormitory accommodation available for an additional €75 perperson for the duration of the course; or we could arrange accommodation inaffordable prices in hotels or apartments in the nearby city of Argos.

Included in the price are three delicious vegetarian meals per day, all createdby our specialist vegetarian chef with vegetables from our own organic gardenor supplied locally.

What to bring with youMay weather tends to be a bit volatile.Temperatures will probably be around 20oCto 28oC and there may be the occasionalsummer-shower, so prepare your clothesaccordingly.

Other things to bring include a sleeping bag,mosquito repellent, a torch, and perhaps abathing suit! Also bring flash drives for filesharing.

The object is to re-educate ourselves, openour hearts and our minds and have fun! So,do not forget to bring your musicalinstruments or any other fun-making hobby ofyours…
