My focus; making a difference and excelling in these 3 areas –Country, Gender and Profession.
COUNTRY:•My pet project „Daniels heritage‟ is a youth ministry which has a mission of building up young people
with excellence as a watch word. Interaction with the youths has been largely via public speaking
forums, mentoring sessions and a newsletter targeted at youth development. I am a co-promoter of
Collageo Communication Ltd Foundation (CCLF) which has a similar mission and I speak at their
leadership programmes and counselling sessions.
GENDER:•In 2002, I started the WCR (Women‟s chat room) only a few months of joining Shell, the weekly chat
room was focused on creating a cohesion point for women in Shell, Lagos. Our discussions covered
professionalism, personal development, time management etc. The Chat room was well accepted and
served as a forum for sharing best practices, networking and learning work based skills.
• In 2005, I was called to serve on the Lagos Crèche project. I worked with a team of exceptional
women on the initial Shell Lagos crèche committee till 2009 .
• I am not afraid to speak up on critical issues if it will result in change. I worked with the SWN in 2010
to present a case to the VPHR for service improvements by the HMO‟s, I have also been personally
involved in promoting annual medicals for women in my circle of influence.
•Its not been all work, I have initiated and Participated in many Work Life Balance focused projects. I
recommended, planned and executed the first ever SNEPCO children's party in 2006 with the support
of an excellent team of volunteers and the event was rated very successful, fun filled and great outing
for the whole family.
•In the technical space, I am known as a mentor for women on both soft and hard issues
•With all of the above, I am still 100% home focused and currently serve as an executive on the parent
body of BOTH schools (primary and secondary) which my children attend.
PROFESSION:•I take professional interest in the technical development of young engineers & interns. I volunteer my
time as a lecturer to support the G180 course (for petroleum engineers) when run locally.
•I support the HR function on a regular basis as an assessor during Shell Recruitment Days (SRDs)
•I write/contribute to technical papers which have been presented at local and international fora

SWN was set up as a forum to engage the organization effectively on gender related issues. Its role is
to create an enabling environment for its members to develop professionally and become mentors to
the next generation. An excellent foundation has already been laid by previous SWN leaders and I ask
that you join hands with me to make that circle even wider.
My goals and vision for SWN as corporate lead is to put SWN back on the radar and revive its
relevance in SCiN as a network of both men and women. This objective will be achieved by:
1. Attraction and retention of a productive female workforce: •Partner with recruitment to engage and train SWN members as assessors to support
recruitment campaigns. This will serve the vision of promoting Shell as the company of first
choice for Nigerian females.
•Initiate „well being‟ programme for all Shell women; drive the culture of annual physical checks
2. Enhance the professionalism initiative for all members of SWN:•Track professional membership of all SWN members and create sub-teams that are aligned
with the identified membership needs. Work with leaders of these sub-teams to create
awareness and motivation for members to be fully active and visible in their professional
activities.
3. Finalise and endorse the SWN charter to provide firm guidelines for future SWN activities
•Engage steering committee, ex-co and executives to ratify the charter in 2013
4. Deepen the existing mentorship programme (2 way focus)•Work hand-in-hand with the location leads and HR to implement an improvement plan by which
an additional 30% of SWN members are in a mentoring relationship regardless of age and
position by the end of 2013. Focus will be on increasing the target to 90% in 2014.
5. Build on Best Practices•Ensure continuity of already established successful events e.g. Catch Them Young and the
ambassadorial programs
•Partner with the SWN executives and volunteers to ensure that a minimum of 2 lunch and learn
sessions a year are run by SWN across location
•Continue to work with Shell in corporate social responsibility programs. SWN will vote one
project per year per location where we will make personal commitments to positively impact the
women and youths of Nigeria as a group of individuals
MY SWN VISION: WIDENING THE
CIRCLE

Perhaps you wonder why I have only 5 focus areas/promises. Experience
has taught me that to excel we need to:
1. Keep things Simple
2. Keep things SMART
3. Keep things in view. My 5 promises represent the 5 fingers on one
hand which will serve as a reminder on a daily basis. My second hand
will be free to work and serve in the capacity of the SWN corporate
lead.
I can promise what is within my sphere of influence, and I am
confident that with YOUR circle and mine, we can make the
desired step change and take SWN to the next level.
Thank You for choosing me as your SWN corporate lead
