Curriculum-learning program

This term we are concentrating on animals , particularly farm

animals. “Living Eggs” were delivered in week 4 and the children

had the opportunity to observe the hatching of chickens and their

growth over 2 weeks. The children are able to learn and explore

the kindy environment they are utilising while playing outside.

Playing with others politely and calmly, as well as following kindy

rules, at times proves to be difficult for a few of the children,.

therefore we are working with your children and asking you to

please talk and actively help your child to understand what posi-

tive play looks like. The responsibility of positive and appropriate

behaviour of each person and natural and clear consequences are

necessary and needed to be built and understood to support so-

cial justice . Remember to look at the floor book and to write a

comment about the week’s activities. Your comments and input

are important. We are visiting the E.E. School’s library and the

school children will visit EEK.

What can you see that supports the learning environment?

...the weekly programme by the sign-in sheet

...daily activities set up for your child (inside and outside)

...literacy kits to borrow

...name writing sheets for each child

...story-a-day (reading to your child at kindergarten)

...your child’s work in his/her profile book

...Percy-the-platypus

AND remember to ask staff if you have any questions/comments

regarding your child, the curriculum etc. Your child will benefit from

your involvement and support at the kindergarten as this is a visual

connection between home and the educational setting. Further-

more when you take the option to stay back we (EEK staff) will find

it easier to chat with you
